There are at this point around 16 000 individual subscriber addresses around the world. The Readers
are mainly drawn from the marine and transport field and also the related insurance and financial
services industry. The readership is concentrated in countries with marine industries and traditions.
It is difficult to ascertain how many are located in the United States simply because the traditional
country identifier for the US is virtually not used instead of the more ubiquitous dot.com. The
breakdowns supplied below do help to give a picture of how the Readership is spread. About half
the entries in the database are singletons. However in some organisations and companies the
publication is carried on internal intranets or bulletin. The estimated hand on rate is assumed to be 3,
giving a total estimated circulation of around 48 000.
