Salve! The Queen's College Old Students Association, Guyana Chapter, is pleased to host the 170
th
Anniversary
Reunion and The International Committee of Queens College of Guyana Alumni Associations
(ICQC) Annual Business Meeting from October 26
th
, 2014 to November 1
st
, 2014.

Join us for an unforgettable week of memories and meeting up with old friends!

Members of five international chapters of Queens College alumni associations (UK, South Florida, Central Florida, New
York and Guyana) and alumni unaffiliated with specific chapters, along with their families and friends, will meet here for
an exciting week of activities.

Here is a brief outline of what has been planned along with associated costs. Please note that all prices are in Guyana
dollars and that online registration is available at http://www.qcguyanaalumny.org.

Sunday, October 26
Commence the week of activities by joining Rev. Conrad Plummer at Redeemer Lutheran Churchs morning worship
service, Sheriff & Pike Streets, 8.00 a.m. Later, join your friends at QC for QC-OSAs Annual Bar-B-Que and Lime and
registration for the reunion. These festivities begin at Queens College, 12 noon on the Terrazzo. A few informal sports
events, hopefully matching old blood with young verve, are also on the cards.

Cost: Reunion Registration Package: $7,000 per alumnus/alumna.
Package includes registration fee, a 170th Anniversary tiepin, one ticket to the BBQ & Lime, one
ticket to the Social Evening (on Tuesday, October 28), one ticket to the Farewell Lime (Saturday, November 1).

Additional BBQ tickets: $1,000 in advance.

Monday, October 27
One of the core memories all of us have will be evoked with a General Assembly in the Queens College Auditorium.
You wont want to miss being a part of a rousing rendition of Reginae Collegium, and mingling afterwards with the
bright young faces that represent Queens College today. Tea, compliments of Dalgetys Teas which is owned by an
alumnus, will be served before and after General Assembly.

in an engaging and targeted manner that would expose students to age-appropriate matters
that lie inside and outside of routine daily academic instructions. All alumni who are interested
in leading or organizing a workshop directed at current students are invited to email the organizers at

Local Transportation

Taxi
Reliable registered taxi services located in Georgetown include the following:
- Sheriff Taxi (226-2155, 226-3000)
- Green Ice Taxi Service (226-0003)
- City Taxi Service (225-6222)
- Classic Cabs (227-4545)
- De General (231-2900)

These registered taxi services have bases located relatively close to Queens College:
- Patrick's Taxi (226-8524)
- Unity Cabs (225-4112 / 227-1200)

With registered taxi services, such as those listed above, fares known locally as short drop fares are usually $400 and
apply mainly to travel in Georgetown within the boundaries of Water Street (west), the seawall (north), Sheriff Street
(east), and Mandela Avenue (south). Fares may increase once one of these boundary lines is crossed.

Fares for Road taxis, those that cruise the streets or congregate at busy spots waiting for on-the-spot passengers, are
usually higher than those of registered taxi services. It is better to stay with registered services; however, if you must use
a road taxi, negotiate the rate prior to entering. Do not use the services of any taxi driver whose license plate
number does not begin with the letter H (H, HA, HB, HC etc).

Car Rental
The names of the following car rental services were provided by the Guyana Tourism Authority:
- Comfort Suites Auto Rental: 225-4816. Rates vary from $7,000 to $9,000 daily.
- Movement Auto Rental: 623-2755. Rates vary from $8,000 - $10,000 daily and the minimum rental period is
