THE DISPOSITIO, OR, NATAL PROMISE
Lets say Theodore Robert Bundys my client. Hes perplexed, confused by himself,
and looking to me for answers.
What are my initial reactions to his chart?
Just about everything beneath the horizon, and two major stellia almost hinged one
to the other. These two components combined portend a highly complex individual whose
astrology probably merits a book in its own right. Ted Bundy was a special human because
he had a special horoscope.
With the majority of planets clustered in the late Autumn signs, its very apparent that
his most significant period would be toward the end of life.
Theres a lot of angularity here. Most of the planets cluster in the 4th House. This is
not good; the ancients did not consider the 4th House a good thing because it signifies the
ending of things, and the conditions surrounding us when we die. Thus, to have such an
angular emphasis on a morbid House like this is perhaps fitting. And we cannot ignore the
fact that the 4th House deals with origins. The question of origins was a big one with Ted.

THE ASCENDANT
Late degrees of Leo rising indicate an individual who seeks glory, honors, power and
influence over others.
THE PRIMARY MOTIVATION
Ted Bundy was born to go for action, power and influence. His Primary Objective in
life is to be significant, to be noticed, to be important and to have an effect on people.
LORD OF THE ASCENDANT: THE SUN
The Sun is angular, hence at full strength. Ted Bundy will achieve his Primary
Objective in life, which is to wield influence and power.
His Sun is so important. Questions of identity tortured Ted, and even though his
Ascendant is in Leo, its in the late degrees. Meaning the majority of his 12th House
is Leonine, and with the Sun in the House of Father, surrounded by all these planets
little wonder Identity and Ego issues abounded for Ted! Its confusing to know
what the True Identity is with all these other personalities crowding in on him.

This Sun wants to cultivate power and influence. Further, it wants to do so through
the philosophical and educational means of Sagittarius. It wants to teach, to instruct,
to enlighten. But it is not the most influential planet in the House it finds itself that
honor goes to the retrograde Venus. So although the Sun must operate out of the
4th House, it is subservient almost to that retrograde Venus.
That the Sun is at odds with the Ascendants purpose, there can be little doubt. The
Sun casts a wide square to the ASC, thus blocking it, motivating it and intensifying it.
Left to its own devices, this Sun would probably want to do and be good things, but
its contact with Mars, Saturn and the S. Node all spoil whatever good it had. Instead
of teaching the classically Jupiterian subjects such as philosophy and law, Ted
taught murder and forensic psychiatry, through the gruesome example of his deeds.
This Sun is angular, its in charge of the ASC and it will produce for Ted Bundy.

JUPITER CONJUNCT THE ASCENDANT
Jupiter is inside Nata MAWs 1st House. In fact, Jupiters tightly conjunct the ASC.
This is highly significant. First and foremost, Jupiter is strong and will promise good things
for Nata MAW and so good things will happen because of Nata MAWs body/wit/skill.
In fact, this Jupiter can easily substitute for Saturn in supplying the things needed for
the Ascendant to be happy, things such as acquiring knowledge and freedom in movement
and expression. Getting these things through Jupiter will be much better for everyone, and
Jupiter can more easily supply them to boot. The idea is that maybe we can turn off the
Saturn in Nata MAWs chart through de-activating or choosing not to use it, somehow.
Frankly, Im skeptical about this, because the mechanics of the things dictate that Saturn
WILL create the Houses he rules using the 5th House. He will block, but not succeed in
stopping Nata MAW.

Entered the Term of Jupiter on 21 July 2008, aged 42 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Heres where my excitement comes in. Because in observing what will happen to
Nata SAT I, the astrologer, can understand some of whats coming for me. The Terms in my
own chart have been directed to this general area. This means my Ascendant has been
directed to the Sign of Leo, just like Nata SATs has. Meaning the general cast of my life will
follow hers. This is very exciting for me.
Life certainly must have changed when Nata SATs ASC was directed to the Leo
Ascendant on the 21st of July in 2008. Im guessing a change for the better, an increase in
optimism generally, after having left what might have been the difficult Terms of Saturn as
the natal Ascendant prepares to leave the final degrees of Cancer and the Primary

Motivation (for freedom of expression and freedom of movement) is now preparing to shift
from the emotionally active and needy Cancer to the more flashy and glorious, honor-
hoarding Leo. Now Nata SAT will start using Leo methods to satisfy her ultimate objectives
for Freedom.
The only problem is that Jupiter in Nata SATs birth figure is retrograde. This sort of
freezes that retrograde condition into place, such that all future meanings of Jupiter for
Nata SAT will preserve their original, natal meaning of retrograde.
So what does retrograde Jupiter mean? When a Planet goes retrograde, it appears
from our perspective to be moving backwards. Thus, its effect on a given Planet is to
pervert that Planets natural expression. So that Jupiter in Gemini will expand the
knowledge of Gemini to an incredible degree perhaps too much. People with Jupiter
problems tend to overindulge in their pleasure, and with Jupiter retrograde in Gemini Nata
SAT will quite possibly want to glut herself on knowledge the way a rejected prom queen
will gorge herself on chocolates. The acquisition of knowledge can, and probably will, be
something of a vice for Nata SAT.
Jupiter rules the 10th House (Mom/Reputation/Career/Deeds) and the 7th
(Lover/Partner/Enemy).
Will enter the Term of Venus on 24 October 2015, aged 49 years, 11 months and 1
day.

Nata SATs directed ASC is still in Leo now. It has evolved from its embryonic
meaning of Gemini. It has learned the lessons of emotional Cancer. And now its in Leo,
learning a healthy application of the Self, which is a challenging thing to do. Its no less
challenging for those advanced in spiritual concepts. It could be that very spiritual people
might incline toward shortchanging the Self, to ignoring or even denigrating the Self as
something antithetical to spiritual advancement. This of course is a folly. Its more spiritually
sound to embrace the materiality of spiritualism, to embrace the ego as something good
and helpful before ultimately casting it aside on the path to Enlightenment. So Nata SAT will
be confronted with these karmic lessons as the original, archetypal, old school Ascendant
is now directed to Leo. Shell be learning the importance of healthy Self-marketing and Self-
expression. And because the Sign is Leo, its going to demand a vivification of the Self, an
embrace of the Self, and a zeal for keeping it alive. One might say that Nata SATs karmic
challenge is to be: spiritually selfish. A paradox, to be sure, but the higher applications of
theology are regularly paradoxical.
Venus will rule this Term from almost age 50 all the way to late November 2021.
Venus is inside and dominates the affairs of the 8th House (Death/Others Money/Partners
Money) and rules the 5th House (Kids/Entertainment/Sex/Entrepreneurial things/Artistic
Works), the 12th House (Mysticism/Vices/Masochism/Confinement) and is exaltation ruler
of the 10th House (Mom/Reputation/Career/Deeds/Destiny).

This will be an influence thats at once both powerful and disturbing.
Saturn will constipate the flow of Pisces emotions. But Pisces is also mutable:
sometimes its emotion flows naturally and at other times the emotions stagnate naturally.
So its possible that Saturns cold, restrictive, blocking effect will be more comfortable or
amenable to Nata SAT during the stagnating phase of the Pisces cycle. But without a
doubt, Saturn will regulate, concretize, organize and give form to the emotions and creative
output of Pisces.

Everybody has Saturn in their chart. Which is to say, everyone has lack, fear,
inhibition, retardation and poverty somewhere in their birth figure. You have it in the 10th
House, the House of Reputation and Career. Join this with my earlier comments on the
Dispositio of Nata SATs planets (that the more exciting parts of life would begin right
around middle age), and it makes sense that Saturn in the 10th House is saying, Nata SAT
will have to bust her buns in order to get renown and authority in her profession. But shell
get it. Shell have to toil for it though. Nothing will be simply given.
I must point out that Saturn in the 10th House is a classically ill omen. It portends
unwanted government attention. I look to Nata SATs 12th House of Self-Undoing and see
its in the Earthy Sign of Taurus. Feminine Earth: the Self-Undoing will just happen to Nata
SAT, it will not be because of her initiative or action that private enemies and Self-undoing
occur. It just happens, with Earthy Taurus. So this Saturn in the 10th House worries me. He
will dominate the affairs of Nata SATs reputation, deeds and career.
Saturn in Pisces in the 10th House is a peculiar, potent symbol that merits further
meditation.

THE MIDHEAVEN
The Midheaven is the top of the clock, the twelve o clock hour, the zenith of the sky.
Celestial influences up here are very visible and public and for that reason traditionally the
Midheaven is regarded as showing Nata MAWs career and deeds and reputation.
Nata MAW has three Planets up here, although one (the Moon) is in that part of the
sky where shes about to set, to slip below the horizon. Still, this is a very good thing as far
as reputation is concerned: to be born with both the Sun and Moon above the horizon and
in masculine Signs. This tells me she comes from a good rank of society and its also an
indication that she will operate in an elevated rank of society. Heres what shell be known
for:

reputation for being naturally philosophical and a bit ditzy, prone to forget
appointments sometimes. Mercury in the 10th House is naturally oriented toward
commerce. Also, Mercury in this House encourages much socializing, gossiping,
etc., at the workplace or with coworkers.
Mercury sextile Ascendant: All the above-mentioned factors will greatly ease Nata
MAWs Primary Motivation in life (as shown by the ASC in Aquarius) which is to
acquire and hoard Knowledge such Knowledge as can be used by Nata MAW to
achieve freedom of expression and movement.
Mercury sextile Moon in 8th House: This is simply a way of saying with astrological
symbols that Nata MAW will work with others money, have a reputation for being
good with others money and in fact have a great ability to manage others money.

THE 3RD HOUSE
Usually this House is not significant in delineating a persons magisterium, or,
profession. Its a cadent House, for one thing. Any Planet in a cadent House is almost like
an expert football player whos benched for some silly, technical reason. Its power is
reduced by about 75%. The ancients considered this an affliction, no different in severity
than an evil ray cast by Saturn.
Most of Nata SATs Planets do not have this problem. But one very important Planet

does: the Sun. Nata SATs Sun is cadent, in the 6th House of Skills/Employees/Minor
Illnesses/Small Animals. The 6th House is a cadent House. So is the 3rd. My Sun is cadent
as well, and for me the experience was awkward socially as a teen those uncomfortable
moments where I felt excluded from all conversations, even though I was popular. Was I
even there? Did I even exist at all or was I just some sort of cloud of intelligent gas?
Thats what it feels like for me to have the Sun cadent. And to a certain degree,
maybe Nata SAT had that same experience, that sense of ones identity being swathed in
cotton, dampened and diluted. Perhaps not a bad thing for one whos aiming for a life of
higher spiritual standards. But in my case the situation was worse in adolescence and
eased up as I aged. Perhaps the same holds true for Nata SAT.
But the reason I bring it up here at all is because Nata SAT has the 3rd and 6th
Houses emphasized for her career. The Sun is in the 6th, showing that Nata SAT will be
renowned for her skills and for being of service, in the way that a doctor or lawyer is of
service, to others. Shell have a reputation for being a healer because of this Sun.

peoples money, the partners money, and death. Naturally, being a professional spiritualist,
bereavement may fall under the category of a professional obligation. Nata SAT may easily
be approached by a grieving client. So Death, while ugly, can and will be lucrative for Nata
SAT. This is neither ugly nor laudable. Its just the way it is.
My point is that the 8th House has a special importance for the delineation of Nata
SATs magisterium. It has special pertinence to her skills and profession, and thats why its
included in this section. It would not be that way for the majority of others.
LORD OF THE 8TH HOUSE: SATURN
VENUS IN CAPRICORN
The very presence of Venus in the 8th House means Nata SAT will find benevolence
and good fortune, and increase, in the things pertaining to that House. Now, her Venus is in
Capricorn, the Sign of Business.
People misunderstand Capricorn. They think of it as ruthless and naturally
associated with ambition and business. This is all true. Capricorn, however, is a Feminine
Sign. Its not masculine. So how can it have all these traditionally masculine associations?
How can it be both ruthless and passive? Aggressive and receptive?

Because Capricorn is aggressive only in the structures created by someone else.
Capricornian business types are not usually entrepreneurial. They dont create their own
structures. They flourish within the structures of others and are ruthless in climbing to the
top of those structures. So theyre aggressive, yet still Feminine in the metaphysical sense.
