to Life legislative package (Providence Journal 9/24/14).

Gina Raimondo has pledged to continue Governor Chafees

Right to Life News

October 2014 Special Edition

To hasten the day

Since 1970, Rhode Island Right to Life has been working for the day when we will no longer be necessary; working for the day when the innocent lives of the unborn, the
elderly, and the infirm are respected by the citizenry and
protected by civil law.
Because that day is not yet today, RIRTL provides
friendship and material support to ease the burdens of
mothers with young children and mothers struggling to
carry their children to term rather than succumbing to
various pressures to abort. While the works of charity
are always important, there is an urgent imperative to
help women choose life over abortion, which has already
claimed the lives of more than 55 million precious, innocent, and irreplaceable babies in America!
Because that day is not yet today, RIRTL educates
the people of our State about the pressing life issues of
our age. A conscientious vote presupposes a well-formed
conscience, which, in turn, presupposes knowledge of the
truth. Our common commitment to this great nation,
founded upon the belief that each of us has been endowed
by our Creator with an unalienable right to life, must be
matched by our efforts to admonish our compatriots that
the deliberate taking of innocent human life, at any stage
or in any condition, is an attack against the dignity of all
human life, and is grievously injurious to our common
good and patrimony.
Because that day is not yet today, RIRTL advances legislation at the State House to protect innocent human life
to the fullest extent allowable under federal law. Laws can
be passed right here in the Rhode Island General Assembly
that could cut the number of abortions in Rhode Island by
500 or more each year -- 500 or more each year!
To hasten the day for which we work and pray,
it is precisely in the rough and tumble world of elections
that we are most in need of your cooperation. Please take
the time to review and share this newsletter. After learning which candidates are committed to supporting our
life-saving legislative agenda, please use your vote on
November 4 to save lives!

Services Update
With the arrival of the cold
weather, we have been distributing
many articles of winter coats, hats,
mittens, boots, and warm clothing.
In addition to our ongoing need for
diapers, we need to replenish these
items to meet the continuing demand, especially as it is still very
early in the season. We are grateful
to the churches presently conducting Baby Bottle Boomerangs, and to
those conducting clothing drives,
Please contact Peg at 521-1860 if you
can help.

ENDORSEMENTS INSIDE

The biennial struggle for a pro-life legislative

majority is a battle of inches. States achieving
major pro-life breakthroughs spent years and
decades building majorities. Rhode Island is
much closer than many people think. And we
have a better feeling about this election than we
have had in years. But it all depends on whether
you and other pro-lifers act upon our enclosed
endorsements on Tuesday, November 4.
