OPENING REMARKS

For the past 50 years, the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists has produced
extraordinary members of the medical technology profession here and abroad. Undoubtedly, their
expertise in the field has brought both honor and confidence in the health profession as well as in
the national health itself, while adhering to international standards.
My warmest greetings to the UST students. It feels great to look at the future Medical
Technologists of the Philippines.
In the Medical Technology profession, it takes unwavering passion for quality healthcare,
profound love for work, utmost patience and persistence and most of all, a sense of belongingness
to a team outside the walls of the laboratory. Through these qualities that a medical technologist
possesses, PAMET has achieved 50 years of unparalleled excellence.
We are gathered here today to rejoice and celebrate PAMETs 50 years of continuous
service through the 50th Annual Convention with the theme of PAMET@50: Medical
Technologies in 2016, aware of the fact that new technology and innovations will unfold several
opportunities for Medical Technologies. PAMET is fully committed to ensure that this symposium
will provide information that will contribute to the advancement of Medical Technology in the
Philippines. We have taken great efforts to ensure stimulating programs by bringing together
experts from various specializations in Medical Technology who will share their knowledge in
providing updates on the latest developments in Medical Technology.
May this event impress upon you. May the profound lessons from the experts help everyone
enhance their personal and technical skills and hopefully open avenues of opportunities to
