Vous êtes sur la page 1sur 1

The Main headline Its all about that bass (literally!

) makes
a direct link to the subject of the article: Meghan Trainor
by quoting her number 1 hit single. The headline is
capitalised for dramatic effect but the font style is slightly
wobbly which takes away the sincerity of the capital letters.
The words are inside a pink heart which instantly makes the
article very feminine because hearts connote love.

The basic layout of the left side page

is set into 3 columns. Over on the
right side page the rule of thirds has
been applied, the main image is
central so the readers eyes are
drawn to the subject.

Analysis of Music Magazine Double Page Spread 3 Top of the Pops

Sub- heading
specifies that
the article is in
fact about
Meghan Trainor
just in case the
audience didnt
recognise her
picture or the
quote.

The structure of the font is

that it is written in columns.
The article is split up into an
interview of questions and
answers. The questions are
written in pink whereas
answers are in black font,
making the article easier to
read by making it appear as if
there is less text.

The majority of the images are of the subject (Meghan

Trainor) therefore linking directly to the text about her
so that if someone is just flicking through they will know
what the article on this page is about without reading it.
The images break up the large chunks of text making it
more interesting for the reader.

Mode of address continues to be incredibly informal

and sometimes humorous for the reader, for
example: (literally!) in the headline is expressed in a
jokey colloquial tone, there are also various puns
throughout the text. This is intentional as they want
the article to be an enjoyable read for the target
audience and less like a set task or homework that
they might have been given from school.

The image links

to the article on
the left hand side
page because it is
Meghan Trainor
(the subject of
the article). In this
mid shot her face
expresses
happiness and
overexcitement.
She directly
addresses the
audience as if she
is inviting them to
be as happy as
her. Her lacy
dress and the
busy, pink, floral
background
express her
femininity. The
shades of
pink/red connote
love and the
happy emotions
shown by this
picture are
associated with
pop music.

Colours: the pages follow the same colour scheme as they

predominantly feature the colour pink. The dominating
colour makes the double page spread seem particularly
feminine; the use of hearts and flowers across the pages
aid this. The overpowering use of the colour pink very much
links to the subject of the article as Meghan Trainor comes
across as very feminine in her music video. In the main
image she wears a white lacy dress which blends in with the
flowers and abides by the colour scheme.
