Four Seasons of Life

Introduction:
If there is anything that I feel that the Lord has taught me first hand it would be the four seasons
of life. I feel very qualified to teach on spring, summer, fall, and winter.
We all face different seasons; we all go through seasonal changes. (The same is true with the
church).
Eccl 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
KJV
Another translation says, "Everything on earth has its special seasons."
The Bible says in (Daniel 2:21), "God controls the times and the seasons.
Gal 6:9
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
KJV
Sometimes in the winter season we find ourselves more prone to discouragement, we find
ourselves questioning whether it pays to live right. (The Lord would have me to say to you, in
your season you will reap if you faint not).
Seasonal Changes:
1 Look at (Ecclesiastes 3:11). He has made everything beautiful in its time. (In other words
God takes the good and bad seasons and blends them together and makes everything beautiful in
its time).
2 In (Jer 29:11) it says, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Every season has a plan and purpose:
1 (Romans 8:28), "We know that all things work together for the good to them that love God."
2 Do you believe that God has a plan and purpose for your seasonal changes? How well would
you say that you do in the different season of life?
Church Seasons:
1 I have pastored long enough to feel qualified to teach on Church seasons. (We see the
nursery full, then we see it not so full, we see children church busting at the seams, then we see
them move to the youth group, we see the youth full, then we see the graduate and go to college,
we see our Sunday school class full, then we see them move up to the next class. Its called the
different seasons of church growth).
2 Some Church members do well in the Church seasons of spring, summer, and fall, but they
fall apart during the winter season of the church.
3 The thing that we fail to realizes is that; Each season is preparation for the next season to
come and each season is a part of what needs to be accomplished in your life and the life of the
church for the purpose of destiny and advancing the kingdom of God.

Think about it, the whole earth revolves around seasons. We have winter; spring, summer, and
fall.
4 Just as the earth revolves around seasons so do our lives.
Gen 8:22
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and
winter, and day and night shall not cease.
KJV
5 In all seasons we have a job to do in the church.
2 Tim 4:2
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine.
KJV
Four Seasons:
1 Winter is the season where we experience challenges and difficulties in our life.
2 Fall is the season of our life where change occurs and we need to let go of the old. During
this period of our life we recognize and feel the need for change. In order for us to change we
need to let go of things like the leaves falling from a tree.
3 Spring is the season in our life of new growth. It is the period of our lives where we clear out
the old to make way for the new. It is a time where we create new beginnings for ourselves and
our lives.
Isa 43:19
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even
make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
KJV
4 Summer is the season of our life to enjoy ourselves. It is a time of play. During this period
we feel bright and happy. We are loving life and reaping the rewards for the positive changes
that we have made.
Remember, as the seasons are important for the cycle of nature, likewise they are important in
our own life cycle.
We will experience all of these seasons during certain stages of our life.
So if you are going through a period of winter at the moment dont worry or stress. Spring,
summer, and fall are just around the corner.
Scriptures:
Ps 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his
season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
KJV
Song of Solomon 2:11-13
For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time
of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens its
figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away.
Jeremiah 5:24

"Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain in its season, Both the autumn rain and the
spring rain, Who keeps for us The appointed weeks of the harvest."
Ezekiel 34:26
"I will make them and the places around My hill a blessing And I will cause showers to come
down in their season; they will be showers of blessing.
Deuteronomy 28:12
"The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its
season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall
not borrow.
Deuteronomy 11:13-14
"It shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you
today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul, that
He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in
your grain and your new wine and your oil.
