Teacher Training For BHS PTT and BHS ITT

Riding suitable for riders training for BHS Stage 3 and 4.

A complete training course
Four hour sessions 9.30am until 1.30pm
You can book all 5 sessions or book just the ones you are interested in. This course can be used to help
inspire your teaching, its not just preparation for exams.

FIRST COURSE November 17th 2014

THEORY
1) Flat work/Dressage: rules, standards, terminology
2) Jumping: rules, types of fences, distances
3) Phases of coaching
PRACTICAL
1) Group lesson flat work: assessment, plan, exercises, evaluation Both for PTT and ITT candidates
SECOND COURSE December 8th 2014
THEORY
1) Presentations: lesson plans, topics, techniques
2) Coaching: methods, behaviour management, mentoring
3) Dealing with clients, records, filing, H&S, staff development
PRACTICAL
Jumping lesson: group, individual, experienced and inexperienced riders Both PTT and ITT
THIRD COURSE February 2nd 2015
THEORY
Rider fitness (physical and mental), injuries (riding or other), medication and drugs
PRACTICAL
1) Lungeing: demonstration, PTT lunge lesson, ITT lunge lesson
2) Effective and varied use of ground poles

FOURTH COURSE March 9th 2015

THEORY
1) Briefs: analysis, planning in response, exercises to correct and improve
2) Principles of coaching: role of coach, responsibilities, rights
3) Factors affecting performance
PRACTICAL
Individual lessons: flat work, jumping, lead rein Both PTT and ITT
FIFTH COURSE April 13th 2015
ALL PRACTICAL
Dressage, Jumping, Combination lesson, Mixed Ability - both PTT and ITT

COST:
35 per session, or 125 for all 5 sessions for registered instructors.
40 per session or 140 for all 5 sessions for others
