I have purchased a counterfeit item, which is a replica of the PS11 Classic Bag by Proenza Schouler.
The bag retails for $1,950.
Seller: chicconsignment60
Item #271643605048
Purchase Date: October 22, 2014
Received: October 29, 2014
Seller claims s/he sold the bag for a client and has not responded to my last message (October 31,
2014) when I brought up concerns about authenticity.
Black is the most popular color and I have recently learned that there are many black replicas that
have been illegally sold. I assumed this bag was under the radar opposed to other designer
handbags, but I came across Craigslist postings of fakes that proved otherwise.

Hate to sell for so low but have a family emergency

and need money ASAP. Cash only.

In the time since my last message to the seller, I have had an authenticator explain that the bag is
counterfeit. Furthermore, I personally confirmed the discrepancies by comparing the bag I received to
an authentic retailers bag. The indicators of non-authenticity are as follows:

A. Silver stamp logo is printed rather than embossed and typography is wrong
B. Lack of interior logo stamping
C. Phillips screws instead of slotted screws
D. Zipper pulls are too long
E. No interior leather patches surrounding leather band
F. Glue stains all over leather exterior
G. Rubber edging is sloppy and inconsistent
I have attached pictures demonstrating all flaws in detail.
This is extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially since I have purchased so many designer
items (clothes, shoes, bags) via ebay and have never questioned their authenticity.
I dont mean to compare ebay to Craigslist, but I have been scammed and the ordeal has already
cost me hours of research and additional expenses to confirm non-authenticity. Please advise on
what to do with the counterfeit and how I may be refunded.
Thanks,

Exhibit A.
Under the main flap, there is a silver stamp reading:
PROENZA SCHOULER
made in italy
Authentic: Silver stamp is pressed into the leather. Stamp is <1mm deep, but perceptible to touch.
Silver letters are thin and precise. made in italy is monospaced (all letters and characters occupy
same horizontal space).
Replica: Silver stamp is painted on top of the leather, rather than pressed/embossed. Stamp is not
perceptible to touch. Silver letters appear thicker than authentic stampings. made in italy appears
more narrowly spaced.

Exhibit B.
In the interior compartment above the zipper pouch, there is another stamping reading:
PROENZA SCHOULER
Authentic: Very deep and pronounced stamping (1 mm depth). Engraving is perceptible to touch. It
has the same font and monospacing as outer silver stamping, except characters are thicker.
Replica: Nothing written or stamped above zipper.

Exhibit C.
Authentic: screws securing metal hardware are flat and slotted.
Replica: screws are Phillips style.

Exhibit D.
Authentic: all zipper pulls are short and knotted.
Replica: zipper pulls are too long.

Exhibit E.
There is a leather band that cinches the bags girth. This bag weaves through the corners, creating
4 intersections with the interior compartment.
Authentic: Interior intersections have a leather patch stitched into fabric, acting as a belt loop for the
leather band.
Replica: No belt loops in interior.

Exhibit F.
Glue stains all over leather.

Exhibit G.
Rubber edging should be precise and consistent.
The replica I received has several areas where edging is inconsistent and sloppy. Here is an area
where there is a glue stain and the messy edging got marked before it dried completely.
