Course Objectives
1. To acquaint students with the basic essence of management.
2. To accustom students with an overview of the functioning of organizations.
Course Outcomes
On completion of this course, the students will be able to understand
1. The various theories and processes of management including its functions; identify
roles of leadership in business.
2. To recognize elements of the communication process and the guidelines for
organizational design.
3. The interpersonal roles related to work groups and demonstrate knowledge of the
basic language of management.
4. To prepare the students for further study in the area of Management
Catalogue Description
The course emphasizes the functions of management i.e., planning, organizing, leading,
staffing and controlling to attain well defined objectives. It develops a practical approach to
management by studying the strategies used in the local business environment through
assignments and case study.

Course Outcomes Assessment


The theory part of this course strongly contributes towards the program outcomes,
Design/development of solutions (3), and Individual and team work (9). Two
evaluation methods will be used for the evaluation of course and program outcomes of this
course.
The outcomes will be measured based on student performance on specific questions that will
be part of the semester end examination (SEE). Question number 9 will test the ability of
the student for Design/development of solutions (3). The design question is put in question
serial number 9 as shown in the model question. That question is compulsory so all students
will be expected to attempt it.
