INTRODUCTION
Imagine two days of techies, programmers, developers, STEM students, professors, video content creators
and creative visionaries gathered to build solutions to help empower women in Los Angeles and beyond!
WHEN: Feb 27th, 28th, and March 1st, 2015. WHERE: The Hangar, Hercules Campus, Playa Vista, CA. This
incredible event will happen with your help!
Wonder Women Hacks has partnered with the City of
Los Angeles, to offer Wonder Women Techa series of
events that offer a unique opportunity to strengthen
the personal and professional development of women
everywhere and inspire technology innovations that
will change and empower the lives of women.
We're organizing Wonder Women Tech in cooperation
with the founders of Wonder Women Hacks, the City
of Los Angeles, The Mayors Office Commission on the
Status of Women, Council Member Mike Bonins office,
and Offices of Controller Ron Galperin, to produce an
event that will revolutionize the technology sector for
women on the West Coast and beyond. With 80
percent of our registered attendees being female, we
are poised to truly celebrate women in technology and
innovation.
Hackathons are a major draw for superb, ambitious
talent that you want working at your company.

interns, innovators, and full-time developers they

The mission of Wonder Women Tech is to create unique opportunities

for women and men of all ages in technology to build revolutionary
products to meet the dynamic and quickly changing needs

This hackathon will explore challenge definitions and data provided by the City of Los Angeles, The White House Office
of Technology, non-profits, and community organizations. Hackers will develop cutting-edge technology solutions that
will solve complex challenges facing women and girls in the following areas:
WOMENS ISSUES: Well solve challenges that currently affect women, such as gender equality, sexual harassment,
cultural pressures, human trafficking, and other important issues.
CAREER: Well explore ways women can enjoy sustainable and financially successful careers. Well also build solutions
designed to motivate and empower women as entrepreneurs, leaders and staff, and expose women to STEM
opportunities.
MOTHERHOOD: Well tackle issues that affect mothers and
impact families. Using data provided by the city and
government, well explore ways we can make the lives of
mothers and their families more productive, healthy and
empowered.
HEALTH: Using important data that highlights the health
challenges women face, well build technology solutions and
tools that will directly transform womens health and inspire
women to lead healthier lives.
COMMUNITY: We will discover how women can build and
enjoy strong communities and reap the benefits of having
local networks that provides community resources, support,
and interconnectedness.

Demographics: Wonder Women Tech will attract women and men, ages 18 to 45 years, and who are passionate about

up 80% of the registered attendees and men 20%. This demographic represents one of the fastest growing markets in
North America, and will continue to expand over the next generation as more and more women create historic
innovations in technology.
