described by NRA (the Norwegian council for education in business administration).
For the discipline oriented masters degree study program (120 ECTS credits ), the admission
requirement is a satisfactorily completed bachelor degree within business administration or an
equivalent subject area from an accredited institution, including a minimum of 80 ECTS
credits within the core subject areas of business administration, cf. the masters degrees
regulation of the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research and the educational
frameworks with respect to business administration as described by NRA (the Norwegian
council for education in business administration).
The following academic requirements must also be met:
1. Business economics: minimum 22.5 ECTS credits (including: basic business
administration (economics) and accounting, financial accounting, basic management
accounting inclusive budgeting, and/or corporate finance (analysis of investments and
financing), or another subject that may be approved)
2. Economics: minimum 7,5 ECTS credits (specifically, macro economics)

ECTS credits in business administration, economics and methods. These applicants may be
granted admission at the discretion of the admission committee.

4 Admission on the basis of relevant work experience

Applicants for admission on the basis of relevant work experience must have satisfactorily
completed a relevant bachelor degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution.
In addition, the academic requirements with respect to ECTS credits in business economics,
economics, methods, and administration and marketing listed in 2 subsections 1-4 must be
met. An additional minimum of 15 ECTS is required within these four subject areas, implying
a minimum of 120 ECTS within business economics, economics, methods, and administration
and marketing. An applicant for admission on the basis of relevant work experience must
have a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. Applicants must state the rationale
for their application and describe their expected effort to succeed in the masters program.
5 Applicant Ranking
If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of places available, applicants to the
masters degree programs are ranked as follows:
A. A weighted average of grades in subjects included in the admission requirements to the
masters study programs is calculated, cf. 2 and 4 above.
B. For applicants with letter grades, the following conversion is applied when calculating the
weighted average: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1.
C. Applicants for admission based on relevant work experience are discretionarily evaluated
in relation to applicants that are ranked based on grades. In ranking applicants, the
following are given greater weight:
1. Scope and relevance of former education and work experience in relation to the
masters program, including knowledge and level of education in relation to the
admission requirements
2. The applicants rationale for applying to the masters program
3. The applicants description of personal expected effort to succeed in the masters
program.
Applicants should have an overall GPA (grade point average) from their bachelors degree of
at least a C (3.0). When GPAs are equal between applicants, the underrepresented gender
will be prioritized.
6 Admissions committee, early admission and quota regulations
The admission committee is established by the Director of Student Services in agreement with
the dean of the Department of International Marketing. Applicants that have documented
needs for an early response may ask for early admission. Early admission may be granted to
applicants that meet the minimum admission requirements and that would without doubt have
been offered a place in the previous years admission. Quota regulations for students coming
from abroad are determined by the Director of Student Services in agreement with the
admission committee.
7 Deadline for applications
The ordinary deadline for applications is the 15th of April. The deadline for applicants outside
the EU is the 1st of March. The deadline for applicants requiring additional evaluation, e.g.
applications based on relevant work experience, early admission, etc., is the 1st of March.
8 Deadline for supporting documentation
The deadline for supporting documentation is the 1st of July.
2

9 Conditional admission
Applicants unable to send their transcript(s) before the 1st of July deadline, and/or those who
were sick during final exams, may be granted conditional admission. This rule only applies to
applicants that (1) have late grading of ordinary exams and, thus, exceed the 1st of July
deadline and/or (2) can produce documented proof (medical certificate) of illness during the
exam period. Applicants granted conditional admission must:
1. meet the admissions grade requirements before the start of the masters program
2. after completing their final bachelors exam, present appropriate documentation that they
have satisfactorily completed their bachelors degree in accordance with the admissions
requirements above.
If these requirements are not met, the applicant is no longer admitted to the program.
10 Reservation of admission
Admission to the program may be delayed until the next academic year if the admissions
committee determines significant reason (e.g. welfare or health) for a postponement.
