T. S. L. WORKING ON DOUBLE LINE
1. On double line when one line is obstructed due to an accident to a train or
track or any other obstruction, Temporary Single line working shall be
introduced.
2. SM shall take line clear by using Electric speaking instrument [telephone
attached to the block instrument or control telephone or VHF set]
3. In case the affected line is going to remain out of use for a longer period,
single line block instrument and shunting limit board shall be provided to
demarcate the block section in wrong direction.
4. SM shall have Reliable information in writing that one line is free for
introducing TSL working.
5. SM can ask PWI to get the reliable information or can dispatch a Light engine
or a Goods train on T/J 602 [block ticket] authority to ascertain that one line is
clear to introduce TSL working.
6. TSL working shall be introduced between nearest stations having favorable
crossovers between UP and DN lines.
7. The intermediate block hut if any, shall be closed and the block instrument
handle shall be kept and locked in TOL position.
8. After getting the reliable information , SM proposing TSL working shall give a
message to the SM at the other end in consultation with SCOR with the
following particulars.
[a] Cause of introducing TSL working.
[b] Line of TSL working [UP/DN]
[c] Source of information.
[d] Place of obstruction.
[e] Speed Restrictions, if any.
[f] Name of the Intermediate block hut to be closed.
[g]Assurance that trap points if any clamped and pad locked.
[i] Assurance that LSS of right line and all fixed signals of wrong line are kept
at ON.
[j] Arrival/Departure particulars of the last train.
9. SM shall start TSL working only after acknowledgement is received with PN.
10. An authority on form no T/D 602 shall be given to every train. And it
Contains
a. Line clear ticket.
b. Authority to pass signals at ON.
c. Caution order.
11. Driver of the first train shall inform all Gate man, Gang man, trolley
in charge and other staff working on line regarding TSL working. and SM
shall make necessary endorsement on caution order.
12. The maximum speed of the first train shall not exceed 25 KMPH.
13. Second and subsequent trains can run at booked speed.

14. Train proceeding on right line shall pass LSS at ON and reception signals can
be taken OFF at station in advance.
15. SM shall give PILOT OUT memo along with T/D602 and arrange to pilot
the train at dispatch station after correct setting and locking of the crossover
points.
16. On approaching station in advance, the train shall be stopped at same line LSS
or opposite line FSS whichever train comes across first and be piloted on
PILOT IN memo after train stops at LSS/FSS.
17. All signals including LSS shall be passed at ON for wrong line and driver
shall switch on flasher light.
18. If nobody is found at LSS/FSS the driver shall send his assistant to the station
after 5" and Guard shall protect after 15".in rear as per GR 4.44.
19. In case the train is stopped in the section and unable to proceed further, it shall
be protected as per GR.6.03.
20. Normal working shall be introduced only after the Track is certified FIT by
PWI.
21. Before introducing normal working SM shall give all concerned message
supported by PN, All block instruments and points shall be brought back to
normal working and ensure that line is clear of all trains/engines.
22. The section TI shall visit both the stations, check all the documents used
during TSL working and submit a report to the DRM within 7 days from the
date of resuming normal working.
