To find the magnetic field at p on the axis of a circular loop of radius a, first we can find the
magnetic field (dB) due to a small element dl in the loop & then integrate it to get magnetic field
(B) due to the loop.
Let us consider two identical elements (dl) in the loop which are in opposite to each other.It is
clear that current flows in opposite directions to each other in these two elements.
Magnetic field due to first element (dB) ::
-------------------------------------------------dB =

(from Biot-Severt law)

Where = angle between dl & r = 90 degrees (always in this case)
r2 = x2 + a2 (from right angle triangle in the above figure)

so dB =
This vector can be splits in to dBx & dBy
dBx = dB cos
dBy = dB sin

Find The Magnetic Field At An Arbitrary Point P ... | Chegg.com

dBy = dB sin
Magnetic field due to second element (dB') ::
-------------------------------------------------dB' =

(from Biot-Severt law)

Where = angle between dl & r = 90 degrees (always in this case)
r2 = x2 + a2 (from right angle triangle in the above figure)

so dB' =
This vector can be splits in to dBx' & dBy'
dBx' = dB' cos
dBy' = dB' sin
But dB = dB' , dBx and dBx' are equal and same in direction && dBy and dBy' are equal and
opposite in direction.
so all the vertical components are cancel each other,and the magnitic field occurs due to
Horizontal components only.
To get the resultant magnetic field B , we integrate dBx through out the loop.
So

B=
=

[But cos = a/r = a/(x2 + a2)]

B=
