Tamil is believed to be one of the ancient languages in the world.

Tamil is a language
and is a race originated from Dravidian Tradition. There are research findings and
evidences that describe the Tamil language as one of the ancient languages in history
the earliest period of Tamil the literature was found in Sangam literature which is
dated from the 300 BCE the 300 CE. Tamil is also one of the classical languages in
India because of wealth, depth and evidence of Tamil literature. Often Sanskrit and
Tamil are debated as to which is the oldest language in India. Tamil greetings are
Vanakkam (can use any time of the day and night) and Nandri
(Thanks).
Tamils have been a traditionally worshiped nature as are their ancestors. Tamil has
wealth of knowledge and literatures which can be a used as a guide for people to
understand and lead a good life. Tamil people are very much taught and brought up
with the traditional link with soul and life. A large precent of Tamil people follow
Hinduism, afterwards on Muslim, Christian etc. There is strong practice in atheist
from Tamil who do not believe in god and religion.
India can be proud to have a wealth of Sanskrit and Tamil languages. Some of the
Indian scholar often over looked Tamil language and often refer Sanskrit as only
ancient language in India. Tamil language has unique script and which cannot be
linked with Sanskrit. Like any other tradition Tamil language and scriptures also has
evolved over the period.
Over 70 million Tamil people are living in India. However Tamil people are also
living in Srilanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, Fiji, South Africa etc. When we
discuss about Tamil it is important to refer India especially, South India.
Tamil kings were Cheran, Cholan, Pandiyan and Pallavan. Cholas ruled many parts
of Asian countries.
Tamil were like other Indian cultures treaded with six taste buds such as sweet, bitter,
sour, salt, pungent and astringent. Tamil Foods were traditionally seeds, pulses, fruits,
roots, green leaves. Over the period Tamil people created their own unique dishes to
suit with their climate and environment. Some of the popular South Indian foods are
koolu, kazhi, Idly, Thosai, paniyaaram (Rice, black lentils based), sampar (lentil based
curry), rasam (Mulkathanni).
A couple of the oldest medical treatments originated in India Siddha and Ayurvedha.
Siddha medical Treatment is one of the oldest medical treatments of Tamil Nadu and
Pondicherry in South India. It is a treatment of herb and spices from the nature. In
addition in Tamil Nadu people referred grandmother treatment which was passed on
to many generations for all basic treatments such as fever, cold, cuts and burns.
Tamil Ancient architectures are well known and can be seen across South India.

Fine Arts were from South India and included folk dance such as Karakam,
Bharathanatyam, Carnatic Music, Unique Tamil music instruments are Thavil,
Nathaswaram, Kompu, Udukku, Veenai, thappu and pambai.
Astrology
Naadi, Palmistry, Vaasthu and Numerology are well known for astrology for
predicting the past and future.
There are so many evidence, writings, research findings which are available for those
who want to read and find out more literature. One can search online or find in
dictionaries, encyclopaedia, books and words Tamil, Tamils, Tamilian, Dravidian,
Dravaidam. The closest culture and ethnic groups are living in Kerala, Andra Pradesh,
and Karnataka.
Thousands of people are world famous for few people are Ramanujan, Rajaraja
Cholan, Muththiah Muralitharan, Abdul Kalam, AR Rahman, Viswanathan Anand,
Velupillai Prapakaran, R.Venkataraman,
Pongal (harvesting festival) is one of the important and major festivals of Tamil.
A large number of Tamil people living in Sydney and Melbourne. Considerable
numbers of Tamils are also living in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and so on. In Brisbane
we have Tamil Associations, Hindu Temple, Tamil churches, Tamil speaking Muslim
community, Tamil Schools, Tamil magazines, Tamil online news. Some of key Tamil
