GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ORDERING
Purchase Orders: Please fax (801-377-1475) or email (Kimberly@inspirediron.com) your Purchase Order to us. The
purchase order is a binding agreement between the customer and Inspired Iron and supersedes all prior and oral or written
statements. The customer needs to review the sales order to verify accuracy. Inspired Iron is not responsible for errors on the
Purchase Order including but not limited to the following: failure to specify damp or dry UL location requirements, choosing
finishes not suitable or recommended for certain applications, incorrect quantities, dimensions, and/or any details pertaining to
the order. Please review your Purchase Orders very carefully before submission.
Orders are not valid until:

All necessary details including but not limited to finishes, shade options, dimensions, drop heights, and quantities are
finalized.
A 50% deposit has been received. Payments can be made via check, cash or credit card. To expedite the process we
can also take payment via check or credit card over the phone.
Custom drawings have been approved, signed and returned to us.
Final Payment: Upon receipt of your deposit, fabrication will begin. You will be notified about one week before your
fixtures are ready to ship upon which the final balance will be due. Please remit payment in a timely manner to insure
prompt delivery of your order.
Scheduling: Orders are filled on a “first come first served” basis that is determined by receipt of deposit and resolution of all
product details and signed/approved custom drawings.
Rush Orders: In some cases Inspired Iron may be able to accommodate rush orders depending on current lead times and
production availability. Please call us directly to discuss options and associated fees.
Change Order: A change order made after a Purchase Order is submitted and prior to production may incur a $50 change
order fee. Depending on the extent of the change order, a re-bid may be required. Changes made after production begins will be
priced on a case-by-case basis and may affect ship dates.
Specifications: Inspired Iron reserves the right to make changes to product size and details without prior notice in order to
provide our customers with the highest possible product quality. Each product is hand crafted and may vary slightly in size. No
two items are exactly the same. Products shown in the catalog may have been photographed with optional glass, linen, acrylic,
or rawhide shade materials as examples. Additional options not listed or shown may be available upon request.
Curved or rounded glass and acrylic shades will require an extended production time and may be shipped separately from the
fixture. Rawhide shades may also require additional production time depending on availability. Items requiring additional
production time will be shipped as soon as they are available.
ACCOUNTS
Open Account: Please call Inspired Iron to open an account. Terms are 50% down with remaining balance due before final
shipment unless otherwise negotiated. Orders will not be shipped until final payment is received.
Net 30 Accounts: In some cases Inspired Iron may extend credit upon approval. All past due accounts will be accessed a
finance charge of 1-1/2% per month. No shipments will be made to past due accounts. Accounts that repeatedly fail to meet
terms will be placed on a pre-paid account.
Returned Checks: All returned checks are subject to a $30 return check fee. Collection fees and other costs may be added.
SHIPPING
Lead Times and Shipment Dates: Products will ship on or before their scheduled shipping date unless the customer is
notified otherwise. Lead times are continually changing due to volume of work and other factors. Quoted lead times when the
order is placed are subject to change. Customers will be notified if products can not be shipped on time. Inspired Iron cannot be
held responsible for extenuating circumstances that may arise and alter lead times.
Freight Charges: In most cases our fixtures are shipped freight allowed; however, in some cases freight allowances are
exceeded. The Consignee will be notified before the shipment is made and a credit card authorization form must be filled out.
Once the shipment is made, Inspired Iron will charge the difference to the Consignee. If you have a preferred shipper, please
specify on your P.O. or in writing prior to the order shipping.
Refused Shipments: Refused shipments are subject to a 50% restocking fee as well as all freight charges.
Packaging: Packaging and crating is included in the price of the product. Any special packaging or crating requirements will
be priced separately. Crated items will require tools to open.
Shipping Damages: Any external evidence of loss or damage must be noted on the freight bill or express receipt and signed by
the carrier‟s agents. Failure to adequately describe such external evidence of loss or damage may result in the carrier refusing
to honor a damage claim.
The contents of a package may be damaged in transit due to rough handling even though the carton may not show external
damage. If damage is discovered upon unpacking, please contact Inspired Iron within 5 days of the delivery date.
Inspired Iron advises the Consignee to open and inspect all packages before the bill of lading is signed.
Please contact Inspired Iron in case of any damage to packages for assistance in filing freight claims for prepaid freight.
Customers must notify Inspired Iron of any damages within 5 days of delivery or they assume all responsibility and liability for
damages. All claims for third party shipping, loss or damage must be made by the customer directly with the carrier.
DO NOT DESTROY OR DISPOSE OF CARTON AND PACKING MATERIALS UNTIL INSPECTED BY THE FREIGHT
COMPANY‟S INDEPENDENT AGENT AND A CLAIM IS PLACED. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN
MONETARY LOSS TO THE CONSIGNEE.
PATINA FINISHES
Process: Patinas are achieved by hand applying various acids to the metal surface resulting in a degree of corrosion. Due to the
hand-applied nature of the process, temperature during application, and humidity, a variation in colors and textures will occur.
It is understood and expected that no two pieces will be the same. Product ordered in quantities will be finished at the same
time. If additional product is ordered at a later date, there is no guarantee the finish will match the original. Inspired Iron cannot
insure an exact match to any samples provided whether by Inspired Iron or any outside person due to the nature of the process.
Manufacturer recommendations: Inspired Iron DOES NOT recommend the use of patina finishes for outdoor applications.
Though Inspired Iron insures that patina finishes are sealed with marine grade varnishes or lacquer clear coats, it is impossible
to completely protect against the elements. If a patina finish is used outdoors the humidity will continue the corrosion process
and the clear coat will wear off causing further oxidation. This can be accelerated by high temperatures, exposure to sprinkling
systems, and rain or snow.
Inspired Iron recommends the use of a powder coat for products which must be installed outdoors.
Outcomes: It is understood that if a patina finish is used on a product that is installed outdoors, the ultimate outcome will be a
deep bronze (in the case of blackened patina or oil-rubbed bronze) and amber rust. Even with regular (2-3 times per year)
application of clear sealants, patina finishes may still oxidize very quickly (in some cases as quickly as 2 months).
RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS, AND DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
Returns: Due to the custom nature of our product line, no returns other than warranty repair will be accepted. Each product is
built to order and therefore considered „custom.‟ Inspired Iron does not inventory items and therefore cannot accept any
returns. If a return is authorized by Inspired Iron it will be subject to a 50% restocking fee and any applicable shipping or repair
charges. Items authorized for return are eligible for credit only. If Inspired Iron determines that returned items have been
damaged or installed prior to return, the return will no longer be eligible and customer must pay for return shipping. Inspired
Iron will inform the customer that the items received were not eligible for return and the product will be held for up to 45 days.
It is the customer‟s responsibility to arrange for return shipping. If Inspired Iron has not received notification or response from
the customer within 45 days, the item will be considered destroyed.
Cancellations: Items cancelled before production begins will be assessed a $50 processing fee. Items cannot be cancelled after
production begins.
Defective Merchandise: If products are found to be defective, they will be accepted on a repair and return basis. Once defects
are found, please notify Inspired Iron of the problem within 5 days of receiving the product and provide documentation and
images of the defects. Inspired Iron, at its sole discretion, will determine the validity of the claim and provide an RGA number
for repair and return only. Authorized returns must be sent pre-paid freight. If the product is damaged during shipment back to
Inspired Iron, no refund or credit will be issued. Inspired Iron will inform the customer that the items received were damaged
and the product will be held for up to 45 days. It is the customer‟s responsibility to file a claim with the shipping carrier and
instruct Inspired Iron concerning the disposition of the damaged product. If Inspired Iron has not received notification or
response from the customer within 45 days, the item will be considered destroyed.
Warranty Claims: In order to obtain warranty service, the user must first complete a warranty claims form obtained from
Inspired Iron. Inspired Iron will determine if the product will be inspected on site or returned to Inspired Iron. If after the
inspection Inspired Iron finds that the product is defective as claimed, Inspired Iron will, at its option, repair or replace the
product, free of charge, or Inspired Iron may in its sole discretion, refund the purchase price. Inspired Iron warrants any
replaced or repaired products for ninety days after shipment or through the end of the original warranty period, whichever is
longer. All products or parts that are replaced become the property of Inspired Iron.
By signing below, we agree to Inspired Iron‟s Terms and Conditions of Sale and agree that they may be ammended without
notice. The individual(s) signing below a; Guarantor personally guarantees payment for all goods sold to Applicant, and all
costs of collection and overdue accounts. The Applicant authorizes Inspired Iron to periodically obtain credit information
pertaining to its financial responsibility from appropriate reporting sources. The Applicant agrees to pay Inspired Iron interest
on overdue accounts at the rate of eighteen percent (18%) per annum, but in no event any rate in excess of that permitted by
law. The Applicant agrees to pay all legal fees and expenses incurred by Inspired Iron in the collection of overdue accounts.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Inspired Iron, LC (“Inspired Iron”) warrants the original owner that this product will be free of defects in material or
workmanship for the period of one year from the date of original purchase from Inspired Iron, if (i) the allegedly defective
product has not been abused, misused or improperly maintained and/ or repaired during the warranty period, (ii) the defect is
not caused by water damage/flooding, fire, explosion, earthquakes or similar phenomenon, (iii) the defect is not caused by
improper installation (unless installed by Inspired Iron), and (iv) the defect is not caused by normal wear due to the location of
the product.
Due to the nature of patinas, Inspired Iron does not warrant against rusting or any other type of oxidation, corrosion, or erosion
of clear coats which may occur on products with patina or painted finishes used in outdoor applications for any length of time.
It is understood that patina finishes will likely corrode when exposed to the elements in some cases very quickly.
In order to obtain warranty service, the user must first complete a warranty claims form obtained from Inspired Iron. Inspired
Iron will determine if the product will be inspected on site or returned to Inspired Iron. If after the inspection Inspired Iron

EXCLUSIVE, AND INSPIRED IRON EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, INSPIRED IRON
EXCLUDES AND DISCLAIMS LIABILITY, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT OR TORT (INCLUDING
NEGLIGENCE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT INCIDENTAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE
ARISING OUT OF THE SALE, INSTALLATION, MAINTAINENCE, USE OR FAILURE OF THIS PRODUCT, EVEN IF
INSPIRED IRON HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES IN ADVANCE, AND INSPIRED
IRON LIMITS ITS LIABILITY TO REPLACEMENT, REPAIR OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID, AT
INSPIRED IRON‟S OPTION).
SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS AND/OR DO
NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATON OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE
ABOVE LIMITATION ON IMPLIED WARRANTY AND INCIDNETAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES MAY NOT
APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS,
WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
ADDITIONAL PRODUCT DETAILS
FINISHES
Patina Maintenance: If a patina finish is used outdoors it must be maintained at least 2-3 times per year using the directions
below. It is understood that even with proper recommended maintenance, undesired rusting may still occur due to climate and
conditions which are not under Inspired Iron‟s control.
Inspect the product for any undesirable rusting.

Use scotchbrite to gently remove the corrosion. Be careful not to scratch too deep into the steel which will show
through the patina as silver.
Once all undesired rust is removed, dust off product and proceed to seal with a marine grade varnish or clear lacquer
following manufacturer‟s directions.
Powder Coats: Powder coats are highly recommended for outdoor fixtures and are also often used for indoor fixtures.
Additional powder coat options are available for special order at an additional charge. Powder coats can also be custom
matched to paint samples at an additional charge.

Chain Lengths: Chain size varies depending on the fixture and is finished to match the product. All fixtures come with
standard chain lengths as detailed below:

SHADES AND BOWLS
Rawhide: Rawhide is a natural product that can be affected by numerous variables such as but not limited to: thickness of hide,
opacity, elasticity, and pigmentation. These variables are considered to add to the overall appearance of the shade and thus the
desirability of the product. A natural darkening will occur over time. In some cases it may become brittle and crack over time.
Be sure to use recommended wattages. Cleaning: The recommending cleaning method is air or dry dust. However, leather
conditioners or cleaners may be used to clean rawhide domes or shades but may darken the material over time. If water is used
it may dry out and crack the shades.
Fabric Materials: Fabrics shown in catalog samples are subject to availability and may differ slightly in color, texture, and
appearance. If a specific fabric is desired, please submit samples to Inspired Iron to verify that it can be used. Upon approval,
please send the required yardage to Inspired Iron for custom shades. An additional fee may be required depending upon the
fabric used. Cleaning: The recommended cleaning is air or dry brush. However, some fabrics may be cleaned with a damp
cloth. It is recommended that a small, inconspicuous area be tested prior to cleaning.
Mica Shades: Mica is a naturally occurring mineral formed into large sheets with an adhesive resin such as epoxy or shellac.
Due to the nature of the product, there will be slight variations between products which add to the overall appeal of the
material. Cleaning: The recommended cleaning is air or dry brush. A damp or dry cloth may also be used. Never use any
corrosive detergents or excessive amounts of water.
Mesh Shades: Copper mesh may be subject to oxidation over time although it is sealed with a clear lacquer varnish. Cleaning:
The recommended cleaning method for mesh shades is air, dry brush, or dry cloth. A damp cloth may also be used. Any
corrosive or harsh detergents or excessive amounts of water may cause corrosion.

Please review the following list of questions before submitting a purchase order. On the purchase order please specify as much
detailed information as possible to ensure that your fixtures will meet your expectations.
1. Is the mounting plate too large for the space the fixture is being installed into? (Specifically applies to sconces).
2. Will a custom mounting be required? (I.e. for mounting to round logs or jagged stone).
3. Is a pitch mounting required for sloped ceilings?
4. Will the sconce hang at the correct height based on the location of the J-box?
5. Is a J-box visible or only a wire coming from the wall?
6. Is the fixture attaching to wood, stone, concrete, brick?
7. Is a swag plate required?
8. Is the standard chain length sufficient? Have drop heights been specified?
9. Is a solid mount required for windy locations?
10. Is the fixture being hung outdoors? If so, it must have the following changes: closed top, damp location electrical,
outdoor finish (powder coat), outdoor mica, acrylic or glass dome.

Mounting Instructions
***IMPORTANT: ALL CHANDELIERS MUST BE HUNG FROM A REINFORCED ELECTRICAL BOX.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HANG WITHOUT PROPER REINFORCEMENT!!!
1. Center the 2” hole on the ceiling mounting plate on electrical box.
2. Mark plate where it will hit beams or blocking in ceiling.
3. Drill ~3/8” holes in ceiling mounting plate and mount to

beams or blocking with at least 3/8 x 2-1/2” lag bolts.
4. Remove access plate on canopy and mount

canopy to ceiling mounting plate with 3/8” machined bolts.
5. Hang chandelier from canopy with provided linkage.
6. Feed wire from chandelier through wire access hole.
7. Bring wire from electrical box and chandelier through

canopy access hole, wire nut, and replace access plate.
Canopy Specifications
Each canopy follows the specifications of the canopy model number; however, actual dimensions of
the canopy may differ from chandelier to chandelier. Please refer to the specific chandelier
specification page to determine actual canopy dimensions.
Canopies are fully customizable in all dimensions to suit special settings. Please contact Inspired
Iron to discuss custom hanging options.
