The Position:
The Senior Social Organizer can be located in any of the regions that TF operates.
He/she reports directly to the Manager.
The goals and objectives of the incumbent are in line with the overall goals and
objectives of the organization. The incumbent will fulfill his/her responsibilities in line
with these goals and objectives.
Significance of the position
Objective: The primary objective of the position is to make contact with local
communities in order to organize and motivate these communities and their leaders so
that they become active participants in community development programs.
Complexity: The incumbent requires an in depth knowledge of the communities in
which they work including language, customs, gender issues, tribal bylaws etc.
Impact: The position requires a high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to
communicate effectively, motivate others and teach people (who may not have had
access to any formal education). Negligence, oversight and /or errors result in
dissatisfaction among internal and external customers and loss of money thereby
hampering the achievement of organizational objectives.
The incumbents performance is assessed based on their successful completion of
assigned tasks and their interaction with team members within their unit, colleagues in
other departments/units, supervisors and external customers. Effective planning and
implementations that exceed the required output will enhance evaluation results.
The job description sets the overall standards and expectations for this position for
performance appraisals, which are conducted annually.
Guidance and Supervision:
The mission, vision and objectives of TF and the Program are the main guiding source for
this position. The incumbent must also seek guidance from his/her immediate superior.

Contacts and purpose:


The contacts are primarily with:

The community

Government agencies and departments

Civil sector organizations

Immediate supervisors

Additional Specific Tasks:

Exchange ideas with management and field staff so as to inoculate the spirit of debate
and discussion within TF.

Act as a liaison between TF and the communities to bridge the communication gap
between these two parties

Cluster the activity areas in which the development program/s will be run.

Conduct different types of surveys and explore new areas for development activities.

Assist other staff members in the proper documentation of schemes and in the
maintenance of proper documentation.

Perform any other duties assigned by the superior.

Identify and select villages in the Union Councils (UCs) on a priority basis.

Identify the potential contact person for disseminating information regarding the
relevant program.

Conduct introductory workshops with contact persons.

Deliver the conceptual package of a program.

Share experiences of development.

Share the problem scenarios of the UCs.

Arrange participatory workshops at the UC levels.

Arrange meetings with the community with 75% of the community present to:
Collecting resolution forms

Disburse amounts
Collecting record of scheme expenses from the Community Organization (CO)
Conduct another other dialogues/discussions regarding the Program / Project /
Scheme.

Identify and conduct workshop for activists and COs for capacity building regarding
CO management, resource acquisition, income generation, record keeping etc.

Execute developed interventions at the community level.
