Its classified into different function first fruit flavored drinks, coffee, tea, and alcoholic drinks are discussed. Milk was also included,
another food related in beverages.

DEFINITION AND IMPORTANCE


Water and various forms and beverages play important put in any meal. The term beverages applies to any drink which relieve thirst, the
body , stimulate the appetite and increase the amount of the body
TYPES OF BEVERAGES

NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

1.1.bottled water- is drinking water (e.g., well water, distilled water, Mineral water, or spring water) packaged in plastic or glass water bottles.
1.2. milk - is a white liquid produced by the mammary glands of mammals. It is the primary source of nutrition for young mammals
before they are able to digest other types of food.
1.3..fruit and vegetable juices and nectars
The standards of quality for fruit juices, are in the following:
a. appearance-attractive color characteristic of the fruit: for nectar it must smooth with no pulp particles: for nectar is must have pulp particles.
b. Flavor- characteristic of the flavor of the fruit.
c. Aroma-pleasing full aroma characteristic of the fruit.
d. Nutrition-sufficient in vitamins and nutrient characteristic of the food.
e. temperature-ice cold.
1.4. fruit nectar- a type of non-carbonated soft
drink made by muddling the flesh of fruits.

1.6 coffee - is a brewed beverage prepared from the roasted seeds of several species of an evergreen shrub of the genus Coffee.

1.9 synthetic drinks- are perceived as the other drinking problem in society in which the addicts are mostly kids.

2.1. malt liquor- is a North American term referring to a type of beer with high alcohol content.
2.2. wine- is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes or other fruits
2.3. distilled liquor -A distilled beverage, spirit, or liquor is an alcoholic beverage containing ethanol that is produced by distilling
ethanol produced by means of fermenting grain, fruit, or vegetables.
2.4. Philippine alcoholic drink -An alcoholic beverage is a drink that contains ethanol.
3. Preparation of beverages
3.1. coffee - is the process of turning coffee beans into a beverage. While the particular steps vary with the type of coffee and with the raw
materials, the process includes four basic steps; raw coffee beans must be roasted, the roasted coffee beans must then be ground, the ground coffee
must then be mixed with hot water for a certain time (brewed), and finally the liquid coffee must be separated from the used grounds.
3.2. tea - The traditional method of making or brewing a cup of tea is to place loose tea leaves, either directly or in a tea infuser, into
a tea pot or teacup and pour freshly boiled water over the leaves. After a few minutes, the leaves are usually removed, either by removing the infuser
or by straining the tea while serving.
3.3. chocolate and cocoa - Chocolate production starts with harvesting coca in a forest. Cocoa comes from tropical evergreen Cocoa
trees, such as Theobroma Cocoa, which grow in the wet lowland tropics of Central and South America, West Africa and Southeast Asia (within 20 C
of the equator) (Walter,1981) . Cocoa needs to be harvested manually in the forest. The seed pods of coca will first be collected; the beans will be
selected and placed in piles. These cocoa beans will then be ready to be shipped to the manufacturer for mass production.
3.4. fruit juice - Fruit and vegetable juices are delicious and full of nutrients, and you can easily prepare them right at home. Youll not
only know what went into them, youll be able to enjoy the freshest juices possible!
