TYPES OF GOVERNMENTS
ECONOMY- provision of goods and services.
CAPITALISM- (free market) people OWN businesses and properties.
SOCIALISM-government owns many industries and provides education
and services (healthcare). Citizens are allowed to make some
decisions. ( political system)
COMMUNISM- government owns all means of production. Equal
distribution of goods. Collective ownership of goods Production of
individual profit DOES NOT exist.

TYPES OF GOVERNMENTS
POLIT ICS- How government is run?
DICTAT ORSHIP-ruled by a single leader that may use force to control people. Could be militarizedArmy takes control. NO public opinions or individual rights.
T OTALITARIAN-ruled by single political party . Absolute control by state (centralized).
AUT OCRACY- ruled by a single person that holds absolute power. Unquestioned obedience.
Decisions are subject to neither external legal restraints.
MONARCHY- hereditary sovereign (king , queen, or emperor). The monarch holds limited or NO
political power= ceremonial role.
REPUBLIC- representational system in which a constitution or charter of rights protects certain
inalienable rights that cannot be taken away by the government.

TYPES OF GOVERNMENTS
AUT HORIT Y- Who picks the government?
OLIGARCHY- ruled by an elite group who govern at their own
benefit and interest. Certain members of society have voice in
decision making.
DEMOCRACY-government elected by the people. Majority rules.
ANARCHY-state of disorder due to absence or non-recognition
of government.
