How will be Colombia in 2050

The future scares a lot of people. Climate change, a growing population, and fewer natural
resources will certainly pose new challenges for the human race in the next few decades. But when
you consider ongoing social and economic progress and all of the coming innovations in science and
technology, there's plenty of room for optimism. Food production will be another mammoth
challenge in 2050. Food production will need to increase by 70 percent to feed the over 63 million
people on Colombia.
If we talk about technology, Buildings will have taken on a life of their own, controlling heating,
lighting and security with little human intervention. Buildings may be able to store energy in huge
batteries, while homes put excess electricity back into the smart grid. Super-fast fibre optics will be
standard in the city of 2050 but it won't just be fibre to the home, more a case of fibre to
everything. All services, from health, education and government to homes and utilities will be
connected into the same network which will become the nerve-centre of the city.
Transportation technology is progressing at a much slower pace than some of the other sciences
such as information technology, biotech, and nanotechnology. In the near future, automotive
companies will focus on fully automated vehicles where people can punch in or speak the place
they want to go to and the vehicle will automatically take them there. This control feature will
open up huge additional markets for automotive companies to sell to the elderly, families with kids
too young to drive, and the visually, physically, and mentally impaired. The arrival of fully
automated navigation systems for ground-based vehicles will set the stage for fully automated
navigation systems for flying vehicles.
We can talk about a range of health trends internationally, highlighting the potential of health
industries based around prevention rather than cure. We could have a referencing early and
better diagnosis in the disease cycle, and streamlining personalised care as issues of critic al
importance.
The technology of the future would enable a shift to community care over hospital care. Future
health challenges will be focusing on the potential impact of an ageing population, including more
patients and less health providers.
I think we have two forms about see our future; I would like to think we can have a better life for
2050 and a pacific world. Our future only depends on our actions and now is the time we can have
a better Colombia. What do authorities, planners, scientists, educators and global think-tanks
foresee? What do todays trends reveal for the world tomorrow? these questions are very common
in our life but we must remember we can make a big change with our actions, if you have a better
world you have to build it.
