Merging Nets

This is perfectly acceptable in ISIS.

It means that all VCC and VDD pins will be connected together.

RELAY

Here we see a Heterogeneous Multi-Element Device. Unlike the homogenous

example on the left here the parts of the overall device (a relay with a single
coil and two SPDT contacts) are different.

The syntax "U1:B" means "element" B of U1. Once a part has a reference like this,
its pin numbers change automatically according to the element specified.

In other words, the relay coil and the two contacts all belong to a the same
physical component but can be placed separately on the schematic.

Multi-Element Heterogeneous Parts

Here we see how ISIS supports multi-element parts where all parts are basically
identical - hence the term 'homogeneous'.

Alternatively, you can define a default strategy for all wires on

a sheet using a *NETPROP script objects such as the one
shown below.

Net names VCC and GND take POWER strategy automatically.

Note also how a proper inversion bar can be used. The label
is entered with a dollar ($) symbol before and after the part of the
text to be over-barred. In this case the text is $STB$.

Here we have logical terminals which make a connection without

using a wire - the two STB terminals are deemed to be connected.

The syntax "J1:1" means pin 1 on connector J1 - this

is what we call a physical terminal. This feature means
that connector pins can be placed all over a design.
This aids neatness and clarity and avoids the need to
run wiresacross the diagram to reach a single
connector component.
