What is SAP CRM marketing attributes

This question is Assumed Answered.
Hi Experts,
Can someone breif me about the Marketing attributes?. Why it is used?. Are these attributes created
at the BP level via EEWB ? or anywhere related to EEWB?.
Any help/hint will be appreciated.

Hi Sudeep,
Marketing attributes has nothing to do with EEWB. You can find these attributes in the BP transaction
under 'Marketing attributes' tab.
These are mainly for CRM marketing during CAMPAIGNS.

You can assign attributes that have already been created to a business partner at the "Marketing
Attributes" tab in any business partner.
Creating the attributes themselves is a different task altogether and it depends on the version of CRM
you are using. For example, in CRM 4.0 you create them from a menu path in the main CRM menu. If
you are using CRM 2007, marketing attributes are created by going to transaction SPRO and creating
them in there.

Now, can you give an example of marketing attribute or scenario which needs the creation of
marketing attribute?. This could solve my problem.

Hi Sudeep,
Here is what i did.
1. Created Marketing Attributes and assigned them to BP.
2. Create Target groups picking the criteria you wnat to
market/campaign.
3. Finally create a campaign selecting the Target groups you created.
Accoeding to the setting set in the config for this campaign like
-> Channel for communication medium
-> Template for Emails.

Hi Sudeep,
Find Below Txn code:
Maintain/Create Attributes - CRMD_PROF_CHAR
Maintain Attribute Sets- CRMD_PROF_TEMPL
Assign Attribute Values to Business Partners - CRMD_PROF_BP
U can assign this attributes to u r BP and use the attributes for Target group creation for Campaign
Execution.

Hi Dipesh,
My client requirement is to run a campaign based on the Balance of the customer. Can you
please guide me how to configure a attribute, attribute set, Data source and Attribute List. This
Balance Option is there in my BP under a Z program table. Please help me out to configure the
above 4 and how to assign the attribute set to the BP. As the BPs are more that 1.5 crore. We are
using 7.0 .

Hey,
I know how to create attribute groups and attributes. But when I do did with format DATE and I
want to add this attribute to BP, I can't add any values. Fields are greyed out...Do you know how I
can solve this?

Hi Sudeep,
Marketing attributes are used to enhance the BP master data ie if you want to include more
information about a BP which is not already available in the field provided in the BP masterdata,but it
has nothing to do with EEWB it has separate set of transactions ,these areMaintain/Create Attributes - CRMD_PROF_CHAR
Maintain Attribute Sets- CRMD_PROF_TEMPL (group attributes together)
Assign Attribute Values to Business Partners - CRMD_PROF_BP (assign the attribute set to BP )
When you assign it to your Bp,it appears in teh Marketing attribute tab page in BP masterdata
For eg. you want to include turnover of your customer in his masterdata,then you can craete an
attribute called turnover and assign to the customer

I'm actually trying to retrieve the marketing attrributes assign to a contact of an account (BP).
In CRM 7 I can can see the attributes by looking at the Account (BP), then looking at the contacts,
then looking at the Marketing attributes assigned to them. There can be more than one marketing
attribute assigned to a single contact.
So this is slightly different than obtaining the marketing attributes of an account (BP), and was
wondering if you know of an FM/BAPI/Method that might retrieve the contacts and marketing
attributes for a given account (BP).

I'm working on CRM 5.2 which should be similar to 2007.
I did find the t-codes mentioned above (eg. CRMD_PROF_CHAR)
However if I want to follow a menu path what is the menu path in the SAP GUI?

Hello,
I am working on demo for bank and basically trying to replicate few sceanarios from 1 system to
another. I found few Z attribute sets under Marketing attributre tab and I am wondering where can I
take a closer look in spro in order to createm in another system. Thanks.

As far as I know you can't see this in spro.
Instead you can use the transactions below
Maintain/Create Attributes - CRMD_PROF_CHAR or CRMM_ROUT_PROF_CHAR
Maintain Attribute Sets- CRMD_PROF_TEMPL
And the tables associated are:
AUSP: BP Attribute set Attribute relation
CABN: Attribute sets
CAWN: Attributes

KSSK: Object ID, Attribute set ID

CABN: Attribute ID and name
CAWN: Attribute name and values
CAWNT: Attribute values and its description.
AUSP:
KLAH:

BP GUID, Attribute Name, Value, Object ID

Attribute Set Name, ID

These are following two function will help you to find out the attribute set,
attribute and value which assigned to BP , just pass the bp_guid in first
method then get the attribute and bp_guid pass it to the second function it
will fetch all data assigned to BP
CRM_MKTBP_READ_ALL_TPL get the attribute_set assigned to bp
CRM_MKTBP_READ_BP_DATA get attribute and its value assigned to
bp

Hi Sudeep,
In this let us see how we can create a attribute and assign the attribute to the attribute set and assign
the attribute set to the BPs marketing attributes. We need this to group the customer using the
segment builder and run a marketing campaign with this information.
For example
If you are a credit card company and if bunch of your customers are traveling abroad then you can
create a attribute name as International traveler with value YES or NO. Every time if your customer
spends some money outside your country using your card you can automatically update International
traveler as YES. Later you can target that group of customers with attribute International traveler with
value YES for low exchange rate for international traveler or low interest rate if they buy ticket through
your company using your credit card(you can use the segment builder to create a group using the
marketing attributes).
from the above example you should be able to understand why we need the marketing attribute.
There is no coding at all. All of them are config. This is wonderful.
