4.1 For Placing Equipment

NOTICE

1.

iPASOLINK EX (equipment) generates non-ionizing radiation. Installing

the equipment indoors may affect, which needs to take the adequate
measures, if occurs.

2. The equipment should be installed in the appropriate site. Do not install it

on a slant or unstable spot. Improper installation raise the temperature
inside the equipment, which may damage the equipment.

3. Places where the iPASOLINK EX is/are installed should be restricted to a

Telecommunication Center or equivalent.

Accessing to the equipment is only by the SERVICE PERSONNEL or

by USERS who are well trained with enough skills and knowledge
regarding these restrictions, precautions and installation sites.

Accessing must be protected using a tool, locks, keys, and/or other

means of security, which should be managed by the authority who is
responsible for the installed site.

The other end of the Frame Ground (FG) should be connected to the
station earth point. For details, refer to 6. GROUNDING AND FORMING

CONNECTING AND FORMING CABLES

5.1 Overview

This section provides the descriptions for connecting traffic cables, power cable and
frame ground cable.

Following shows the summary of the cable installation:

1. Connect the Ground Cable to FG Terminal on iPASOLINK EX.

NOTE: Tightening torque is 13 2 kgcm

2. Connect Power Cable

NOTE: If you use the PoE, connection Power Cables are not required.

3. Connect Ethernet Cables for the use of power supply and communication.

(1)

Connect Ethernet Cable for power supply and communication to

P1(PoE)Port on iPASOLINK EX and a connection port on a power
injector.

NOTE: Confirm that the power injector is off. If it is powered on,

connecting the Ethernet cable to P1(PoE) port immediately
turns on the iPASOLINK EX.

NOTE: When using -48V if you do not need. If you want to use as the
P1 Port a Communication Port, Please connect the P1 Port.

4. Connect LAN Cable for WebLCT.

To operate WebLCT, connect your PC (web browser must be installed) and

LCT port on iPASOLINK EX.

NOTE: Please connect when use NMS/Web LCT.

Power cable to connect with iPASOLINK EX should wear a waterproofing cap.
Following shows the connecting method of Power cable with a waterproofing cap.

1. Uncover the protected port.

Waterproofing cap can be off by turning it counterclockwise

The removed cap should be protected by self-fusing tapes in order to

prevent the cap from getting water inside.

5.5.1 Connecting Ports

1. PoE Port Connection
To iPASOLINK EX, the power is supplied by a power injector using Ethernet cable.
Before connecting Ethernet cables, ensure that the power injector is off. Leaving the
power injector on in the installation allows iPASOLINK EX to start up immediately
after the connection of Ethernet cable to P1 terminal.

If the power injector is left on, iPASOLINK EX starts up immediately after

connecting the Ethernet Cable and P1 Port.
