IMPLEMENTING PARTNER:
Masjid is the most respectable place in any Muslim Country, and it is an honor for us if we
can do something to construct or renovate a Mosque. This report is about the reconstruction
of mosque in Village Kalas Seri. Project has been funded by Danish Muslim Aid and
implemented by Karwan Development Foundation. This is to present every stage of the
project so that, one can be well aware about before and after status.
AREA PROFILE
BEFORE RECONSTRUCTION, IT WAS IN VERY POOR CONDITION AND IT WAS NOT SAFE
IN RAINS
BESIDES PRAYERS, CHILDREN OF THE VILLAGE ALSO ATTEND THE QURAN COACHING
CLASSES IN THIS MOSQUE
This mosque was damaged in earthquake and till then; it was not constructed properly. Community
repaired the mosque with wooden sheets; which was a temporary arrangement.
KARWANS ROLE
Community was known to KDF and DMAID due to previous interventions of water supply scheme and
Qurbani Project. Community requested KDF representatives for the reconstruction of mosque, KDF then
formally proposed this reconstruction as a project. It is important to mention here that community
agreed to provide every possible labor for free. Cost of material and carriage was demanded and the
charges for mason.
DM AID CONTRIBUTION
DM AID always appreciates the projects where community shows engagement and owned the project.
So it was good to have participation of the local community. DM AID approved the project and provided
the financial support for reconstruction. This place was visited by the monitoring team of DMAID before
the reconstruction of the mosque. After completion, DM AID visited again to see the construction and
the work done.

STRUCTURE
Windows of the mosque were not installed due to moisture in the wooden frames. This moisture was
due to rains in February and March in Muzaffarabad. Besides that, proper plaster and white wash have
been done and the mosque is now ready for the regular prayers.
INAUGURATION
Chairman & General Secretary Danish Muslim Aid
visited Pakistan to monitor the completed projects,
funded by DM AID. This mosque was completed in
the end of March 2014. So Chairman Danish
Muslim Aid visited village Kalas Seri Dara. During
his visit, he inaugurated the Mosque and met with
the people of the area to have the feedback.
There was a small community meeting afterwards
in the mosque, people who took part in the
construction process were praised. People from the
village were grateful to KDF and DMAID people for
the help in Mosque construction.
Mr. Nadeem Niwaz, Chairman of Board DMAID requested the community to take care of the mosque
and also requested to keep remember him and his friends associated with DMAID in Denmark.
