Setup Two-factor Authentication for Macs

This standard operating procedure outlines how to register a VIP soft token on a Mac laptop or desktop, using
the internal Symantec VIP Self-Service portal.
Note: A list of frequently asked questions about VIP Access is available here.

Important: It is necessary to both install and register your VIP token. Please follow these instructions
completely, otherwise your VIP token will not work. If you are external to Citrix you will need to call the
helpdesk.

Register Your New Token

1. Browse to https://idprotect.verisign.com/desktop/download.v
2. Click on the Download for Mac button to download the Mac client.

3. Open your Downloads folder in Finder and launch VIP Access.dmg to mount the disk image.

4. Open your Applications folder in Finder and move the VIP Access application from the disk image to your
Applications folder using a drag-and-drop operation. This enables all the users of the system to access
the VIP Access for MAC application from their respective Applications folder.

5. Hold down the control key and click on the VIP Access for MAC application, then click on Open.

6. If you receive an unidentified developer or an application downloaded from the Internet warning then
click on Open to continue.

7. From your workstation or laptop on the Citrix network, enter VIP into your browser and log in with your
Citrix network username and password.
Note: If your browser does not display the screen below please enter https://vip.citrite.net . If you are external
to Citrix you will need to call the helpdesk .

Note: If you have already registered, you will also need to enter your VIP credentials.

8. Click on Register at the welcome screen.

Note: If you already have a token registered, you will need to click on Register in the upper right.

9. Start the VIP Access Desktop application from your menu.

Note: The token will float on top of your screens.

10. Key in a Credential Name (e.g. Desktop Token) for the token and then enter the token Credential ID.
Type the Security Code and click on the Submit button.

11. If successful, you will be returned to the main screen, and a confirmation message will be displayed.

12. If necessary, you can then Rename, Test, or Remove your token from this screen.

13. Once done, click Sign Out in the upper right corner.
At this point, your new VIP security token is registered.

Using Your New Token

When you login, enter your User name, Password, and the token security code displayed.
