ALLEGIANT
Make a choice
I think that when Tobias chose to transfer to Dauntless was
interesting, but what if he stayed in abnegation? That would be a
really different story.
Before the choice (Tobias POV):
Ive been thinking a lot about initiation. If I left abnegation, Im not
sure how my father would react. If I should even call him that. For
my whole life hes been beating me, and being abnegation I cant
fight back, even if I tried, Im nowhere near strong enough.
I wish I was dauntless, then I could fight back to my father, Id be
strong enough. If I was dauntless then maybe my father wouldnt
beat me up. If my father didnt beat me up then my mother wouldve
stayed.
During the choice (Tobias POV):
Todays initiation day, I have to choose what I want to do for the rest
of my life. Tobias Eaton they call, I dont even bother saying
goodbye to my father. Im so embarrassed of my name, the fact that
people know Im Marcus Eatons son disgusts me. I walk down the
stairs while all eyes are on me and the dead silence is making my
footsteps echo. I get the bottom and am ready to make my decision.
I grab the knife and cut to the palm of my hand. I place my hand over
the dauntless bowl. I start to turn my hand trying to let my blood
pour into the dauntless bowl. I turn my head around looking at my
dads furious face. I turn my hand back around before any blood can
the drip. I move my hand over to the abnegation bowl, close my

eyes, and let my blood go in. I see my father smirk from the corner of
my eye.
I am abnegation.
With my father.
For the rest of my life.
How would this affect the book?
This would affect the book because,
Tobias wouldnt work in the dauntless headquarters which means
someone else would be the trainer for the initiates. If Tobias wasnt
there then Eric would have to be first on the lead board. Tris and
Tobias would still meet but they would not see each other if Tris still
moved to Dauntless. If Tobias stayed then he probably would have
died if the Dauntless went ahead with the Abnegation attack. He
wouldnt have met his mother again. He wouldnt train Tris which
means that most of the things going on right now wouldnt happen,
such as when everyone moved to different factions, and they
wouldnt have stopped Jeanine which means all people from
abnegation wouldve died.

I rate myself a 4/5 because I spent a lot of time on this task and I
think I was creative with the way I wrote this task.
I chose this activity because I wanted to work on investigating the
text. Also I thought this task was appropriate for the book I am
reading, Allegiant
