Dear Atty. Cabarde, Jr.:
Warm greetings!
The Political Science Department of the Social Sciences Cluster is currently
implementing its practicum program for 4 th year students. Our aim is to
provide an opportunity for students to validate theories and apply what they
learned inside the classroom. We would like to invite your office as one of the
participating institutions for this practicum program.
There will be four (4) Political Science students namely, Ayala, Jacobo Luis
M, Balunos, Arron Jhon Moses T., Chavez, Alistair D. and Tubog, Paolo
Marco Antonio P. who will be assigned in your office. They are expected to
fulfill 54 hours of practicum work starting December 9, 2014 to January 6,
2015 every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We would
like to request your good office to assign a practicum supervisor who can
provide an orientation and also direct students as to their work load.
Likewise, the practicum supervisor shall certify pertinent documents such as:

Attached is a copy of the practicum syllabus and expected duties of

practicum students. Should you be amenable to our request, kindly indicate
the task they will be performing in the office in the practicum assignment
form. The signing of the MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) will follow later.

Course Title: Practicum
Number of Units: 3
Course No. : PS 422
Course Description:
The subject involves practical application of studied theory in field or office work,
which involves validation of theories, concepts and data necessary in ones academic
exercise. It also involves assignment to different institutions/organizations engaged in
governmental and non-governmental processes, legal matters, analysis, research, training,
management, development work, policy making/review and advocacy.
General Objectives:
1. To prepare the students in their chosen field or career in the future.
2. To realize the importance of the subject in ones self and their course.
3. To develop the students critical and analytical skills.
Specific Objectives:
1. To expose the students in real work world situations and enable them to use
necessary skills learned from the classroom.
2. To train the students on how to apply/validate the theories learned in the
course.
3. To allow political science students to accustom themselves to real life
adventures and situations and to be able to handle the situations less existent
in the four corners of the classroom.
