ISBN 0-7637-3235-4. Student’s Solutions Manual, ISBN 0-7637-3047-5,
is available in the bookstore.

Course Description: Matrices, vectors, determinants, inverses, systems


of linear equations, and applications.

Pre-requisite: MATH−1314 with a minimum grade of C− or equivalent.


A basic algebra readiness test is given during the first class period.

Chapter 3 Determinants 3.1 − 3.4
Chapter 4 Vector Spaces 4.1 − 4.5

Chapter 6 Linear Transformations 6.1


Chapter 7 Least Squares Curves 7.4
Chapter 9 Linear Programming 9.1
Attendance: Students are expected to attend class.

Grading: There will be two exams and a comprehensive final.


There will be no make-up, or re-scheduling, of an exam.

Exam #1 Counts 1/3 of the grade.


Exam #2 Counts 1/3 of the grade
Final Exam* Counts 1/3 of the grade and is mandatory.
*The final exam score will replace one of the exam scores, if it’s to the student’s advantage.

Note: Textbooks, notes, calculators, etc. are not allowed on exams.


Also, bring your student ID with you to the exams.
