excavator mounted

vibrodrivers
For driving and extracting

For more than 80 years

PTC has been mastering
vibration technology
and developing innovative
pile driving solutions:
The Vibrodrivers

The increasing use of hydraulic excavators in piling

jobs, has motivated PTC to develop a complete
range of Vibrodrivers that are specifically designed
to be mounted directly on the stick of a wide range
of excavators.
PTC excavator mounted Vibrodrivers are efficient
hydraulic vibratory hammers that reduce the cohesion
of the soil through vibration, allowing to easily
drive or extract a variety of profiles, such as:
Sheet piles
H and I beams
Casings and tubes
Concrete piles
Wooden piles
PTC proposes as well different clamping systems,
accessories and connection options, allowing
a perfect adaptation to the specificities of the job
site and the excavator.

Variable moment technology

Vibrodrivers of the PHFV range, are equipped with PTCs
variable moment technology, which enables to permanently
control the vibrations generated by the Vibrodriver.
Thus allowing to work in vibration-sensitive areas (city centers,
urban areas). The variable moment system consists of a phase
shifter that opposes the upper and lower eccentrics to adjust the
vibration, even down to zero (no vibration).

Tiltex clamp

2 011

Just tilt, lift and drive.

1 - Tilt the clamp and grab the sheet pile.

The Tiltex is a tilting clamp specially designed for excavator

mounted Vibrodrivers. It improves the handling of sheet piles
and the productivity of piling projects. With this tilting clamp,
operators can grab sheet piles stored on the ground and drive
them directly without any other handling operations.

How does Tiltex work?

2 - Lift the sheet pile.

The Tiltex key characteristic resides in the fact that it swivels in the horizontal position
in order to grab a sheet pile laid on the ground. After closing the clamping jaws,
the excavator operator raises the sheet pile from the ground and tilts the clamp at
the same time, until reaching the vertical position. Once the locking system is activated,
the operator positions the Vibrodriver and the sheet pile in the desired position
and starts driving it.

An accessory that makes all the difference!

Tiltex is innovative due to the fact that it is simply an accessory. It is the first clamp
that swivels fully to grab and lift sheet piles from the ground.
This clamp offers an efficient and economical solution, because it remains an accessory
which can be easily mounted on existing PTC Vibrodrivers.

3 - Position the sheet pile.

The Tiltex 60 t can be mounted in a wide range of PTC Vibrodrivers:

Handling: simplified and optimised.

Theres no longer any need for an additional operator to thread a chain through the sheet pile or use any other basic lifting
accessories to handle the sheet piles: the excavator operator controls all the parameters from the cabin. Safety is also improved
during handling operations, as less manual work is required.

p.15

The electric control monitors all Vibrodriver functions using only one circuit of the
excavator. This single circuit supplies hydraulic power with proper flow and pressure to
all the Vibrodriver circuits. The Vibrodriver is easily controlled from the cabin by
a control box:
A simple 3-button control box allows controlling:
Vibrations (hydraulic motor)
Clamp
Amplitude (variable moment system of PHFV models)
Only 1 circuit is required to operate PHF or PHFV Vibrodrivers.
Breaker circuit.

The manifold block developed by PTC allows to control the Vibrodriver by using only
one joystick (vibration and clamps). The operator starts powering the Vibrodriver by
pushing forward the joystick to close the clamp. Then to start the vibration, the joystick
needs to be pushed all the way. To open the clamp the operator moves the joystick
backwards and reverses the flow.
1 circuit is required to operate PHF Vibrodrivers.
Breaker circuit.
2 circuits are required to operate PHFV Vibrodrivers.
Breaker circuit.
Additional circuit: for the variable moment system of the vibrator,

which controls the amplitude.

The flow limitor makes sure the vibrodrivers maximum oil flow capacity is not
surpassed, thus guaranteeing driving efficiency and protecting the equipment.
In addition, the Vibrodriver can be mounted on excavators with different oil flow
capacities, without needing special adaptation.
2 circuits are required to operate the PHF Vibrodrivers.
Breaker circuit: for the Flow limitor, which controls the hydraulic motor (Vibrations).
Bucket circuit: for the clamp.
3 circuits are required to operate the PHFV Vibrodrivers.
Breaker circuit: for the Flow limitor, which controls the hydraulic motor (Vibrations).
Bucket circuit: for the clamp.
Additional circuit: for the variable moment system of the vibrator,

which controls the amplitude.
