Applications are invited from the qualified Personnel who possess the requisite
qualification and eligibility detailed hereunder, for filling up of the following posts at
Government Ayurveda Medical College, Kottar, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District.
NATURE OF APPOINTMENT:
These contract appointments are purely temporary in nature as per G.O.Ms.No.170
Personnel & Administrative Reforms (S) Department dated 18.12.2009 and will be made for
a period of one year at maximum. However, it will be renewed year after year based on the
performance and the need to renew the Contract.
DETAILS OF POSTS AND NUMBER OF VACANCIES:
READER

-- 3 POSTS [one each Rachana Shareer/

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
READER

M. D. Ayurveda in Rachana Shareer/

Roganidan / and Prasuthi and Streeroga

MANDATORY CRITERIA:
Must have registered with the concerned State Council of individuals domicile under Class
A or Class - A Special. On appointment, the successful candidate shall register himself with Tamil
Nadu Board of Indian Medicine.
AGE: Should not have completed 45 years as on 01.07.2014 or any other upper age limit as may be
prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time.

EXPERIENCE:
For the post of Reader : Total teaching experience of five years in the Specialty is necessary as
Lecturer in the Specialty concerned in an Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital recognized by the
CCIM and the Department of AYUSH , Government of India, New Delhi.
PREFERENCES:
Preferences will be given to those

who have longer teaching experience

who have research degrees
who have contributed to reputed Medical
like Nature
who have commendable credentials in the
who have knowledge of Tamil Language

PAY FOR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT:

The post of Reader will be paid in the scale of pay of Rs.15600-39100 PB 3 with Grade Pay of
Rs.6600/- with usual allowances admissible.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The selection will be made through a personal interview on merit basis. Candidates who are called
for interview will not be paid any TA & DA.
PROCEDURE TO APPLY:
Only candidates possessing MD (in Ayurveda) qualification in the specialty mentioned above
need to apply. Application form is separately appended to this notification. Every candidate
should submit the application only in the prescribed format. Application not in the prescribed
format will summarily be rejected. While applying, the candidates should mention clearly the
post to which his candidature has to be considered for. The candidates should submit separate
applications for each post.

The candidate who applies for these posts should enclose the copy of the Medical
fitness Certificate issued by a physician not below the rank of civil surgeon working in

Government Hospital and the original of the same should be produced at the time of
interview.
Other Conditions:
i) The Contract appointment is purely temporary; this can be terminated at any time
without giving prior notice or assigning any reason therefor.
ii) The persons under contract appointment can avail at the rate of one day casual
leave for every working month subject to a maximum of 12 days in a year.
iii) The persons, who are appointed on contract basis, should give two months prior
notice to the appointing authority for his /her discontinuance from the contract.
iv) The persons appointed as Reader on contract basis should abide by the other
terms and conditions of appointment without fail and discharge the duties and responsibilities
assigned to them by the administration from time to time during the currency of Contract.
Fee: There is no fee for applying to the posts.

Those candidates who wish to apply shall submit their applications in the format appended to this
notification along with attested copies of their testimonials so as to reach this Office on or before
5.00 PM on 12.12.2014 and the qualified candidates in the above specialities may attend for
interview in the Office of the Commissioner of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna
Government Hospital of Indian Medicine, Arumbakkam, Chennai 600 106 on 17.12.2014 for
personal interview along with relevant original testimonials and copy of application sent to this
office. The applications received after the stipulated dated will not be entertained under any
circumstances and will be summarily rejected. The Department will not be responsible for any
postal / Courier delay.
