Implementation PLAN for RSA Agent for Netapp storage controllers:

Introduction:
This document is dealing with the implementation plan for RSA (Remote support Agent) for Netapp
storage controllers.
Overall objective of the document contains, prerequisites, Controller options for RSA, RSA setup and
RSA test feature.
RSA agent will connect to RSA agent server hosted at netapp and stores the /etc/log /etc/crash files
automatically when the system panics and it should matches the Netapp Panic message Database.
Remote support Agent can be triggered from remotely by the Netapp system Engineer in case of any
hardware issues or panics.

Prerequisites:
Remote Support Agent is provided as a firmware upgrade to the Remote LAN Module (RLM)
card.
Firmware 3.0 or later is required; release 4.0 or later is recommended.
Remote Support Agent is included in the Service Processor (SP) firmware on FAS/V 2200, 3200,
and 6200 systems.
FAS20xx systems that have the built-in Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) are not
supported.
You must have a 128-bit, encrypted, outbound HTTPS connection to the Internet over port 443.
You must have a 10/100 megabits per second full-duplex Ethernet port with auto negotiation
enabled.
You must have the ability to access the target URL
http://support.netapp.com/NOW/download/tools/rsa/.
Auto Support must be enabled on the storage system.
The SP/RLM must be configured.
The sp setup and rlm setup commands display the SP/RLM configuration.
SP/RLM must be able to send a test Auto Support message.
The options autosupport.to, options autosupport.mailhost, and rlm testautosupport or sp test
auto support commands enable you to verify whether the SP/RLM is able to send a test
message.
Internet connectivity to the https://remotesupportagent.netapp.com/eMessage site through
proxy server.
Service account for setting up internet connectivity.

Configuration Steps:

Options needed for data transport from filer:

Below options are need to be set for the data (Log file) transfer to the Remote support agent
repository.

To set HTTPS transport:

Filer >Options httpd.admin.ssl.enable

on

Filer >Options httpd.autoindex.enable

on

To set the HTTP transport:

Filer >Options httpd.admin.enable
Filer >Options httpd.autoindex.enable

on
on

Verify Auto support is enabled on the controller:

Filer >Options.autosupport.enable on
Filer >Options. autosupport.support.enable on
Filer >Options autosupport.support.to

autosupport@netapp.com

Filer >Options.autosupport.mailhost Mailhost server Name(Relay server)

User Creation for access:

Need to create a user with Administration privilege for http access to connect the RSE of Netapp.
Command: Useradmin user add username g Administrators comment RSA user account

RSA Setup configuration steps:

Please login to the SP and follow the below steps to do the configuration:
Setup:
SP Filer Name > rsa setup

Testing Connectivity:
After configuring the netapp to test the connection to the RSE (Remote support Enterprise).
SP filer > rsa test
Testing storage controller HTTP connection ......................... ok
Testing Remote Support Enterprise connection ....................... ok
All configuration tests passed
