Prayer

Power in preaching of the cross. Something there that Elohiym has ordained to stir the hearts of men.
But it is foolishness to them that perish. (1 Corinthians 1:18)

Power in prayer to prevail against sin – tempter unmasked. We become watchmen, more alert, aware.

Psalm 66:18 “If I regard iniquity in my heart, Adonai will not hear [me]:”
Examine reasons that prayer may not be availing. Source of strength through prayer. (Elohiym is the
source.)

In army, one way to prevail against enemy is to cut off supplies. Daniel kept praying. Because he would
not cease to pray, a testimony went through the earth. (Daniel 6)

Morning watch – very important time. Do not face the day until you’ve faced Yahveh. One man put a
bucket of cold water near bed to help him wake up in the morning to pray.

Airline – one of the busiest industries – but one thing they have to stop and do is refuel.

Letting other things come before what’s more expedient.

Those with prayer life to be applauded in this time.

Community college offering sex education classes. Man interested, wanted to look into it for sake of
children. Officials didn’t want him to look into it – said it wasn’t his business (though he had seven
children) – but they got exposed – “Weep for our children.” Showing film with sexual acts. Sodomy – not
speaking against wickedness.

When we don’t pray, wickedness sets in.

You’re really blessed this morning that you have an opportunity. Daniel prayed three times a day
(“kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed.” Daniel 6:10) He wouldn’t give up his prayer life.
– That’s why he went into the den of lions. (Daniel 6)

James 5:16 “Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The
effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

2 Samuel 22:21 “Yahveh rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my

hands hath he recompensed me.”

James 1:6,7 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea
driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of Adonai.”
When pray, and don’t ask in faith, like a photograph of Niagara Falls - no power. Some might even be
surprised if Elohiym answered.

James 5:15 “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and Adonai shall raise him up; and if he have
committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
When we ask, we must believe.

Hebrews 11 – Believe that He’s a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (“But without faith [it is]
impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to Elohiym must believe that he is, and [that] he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” vs 6)

How many definite things do we pray for in faith?

Consider men praying for things in the scriptures (like Elijah) – those accounts proving that El answers
prayer.
Just because something is labeled prayer, doesn’t mean it’ll get anywhere.
Have to pray in faith.
Also, He’ll reward us according to our righteousness. We must be honest. He is aware of the state of our
heart.
Woman having trouble keeping her heart, prayed: “i cannot keep it – Can’t i just give it to You? and You
keep it for me?”
Sometimes, praying is quietness, listening for instruction from Him.
Moving into quiet places, being in a broken place, that we can listen.
