Brochure
Description: A two-sided offset brochure for a recital.
Date: 12/9/14
Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 04/ Brother Judkins.
Program/tools: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
Objectives: Learn how to use each of the Adobe programs together.
Process: I began by creating a rough sketch on paper, with measurements to figure
out how to do the layout in InDesign. Once I had my InDesign document set up, I
created the brochure by using different graphics that had been created in Illustrator
(the logo, saxophone and cloud) and them adding them to an InDesign document.
I edited each of the pictures with the quick select tool in Photoshop. I took out the
background, and then in InDesign added a basic feather to make the edges softer.

Letterhead

Description: Using an original logo created by me, a design for a letterhead.

Date: 11/8/14
Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 04/ Brother Judkins.
Program/tools: Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator
Objectives: Create a professional letterhead for a ficticous company.
Process:Using Adobe Illustrator. I created the lion, and the grass. For the lion, I used
the ellipses, star, and arc tool. The star was only used for the nose, and the arc for
the mouth. I roughened the mane and added anchor points to manipulate the shape.
I did the same with top of the lions head to make his hair stand out. For the grass,
I simply used the line tool and varied the length. Once I was done, I used Adobe
Indesign to create the logo. I placed both the lion and the grass into the document. I
picked a lighter green for the background, and then changed the opacity so it would
be light enough for letters to be written on.

Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 04/ Brother Judkins.
Program/tools: Textwrangler, Adobe Photoshop
Objectives: Learn basic HTML and CSS coding.
Process: Using TextWrangler, I created a webpage. First, designing the basics in
HTML and then adding CSS. I added colors to match my logo, and added another

my HTML coding was correct. Both the lion and the grass image were created
previously using Adobe Illustrator.

Date: 10/26/14
Course/Instructor: COMM 130 Section 04/ Brother Judkins.
Program/tools: Adobe Photoshop/masks
Objective: To make a montage motivational/religious photo using maks.
Process: Using Photoshop, I blended together the two background images (the leather
jacket and the lace shirt). I added the heart and made it sit underneath the collar
of the shirt by bringing the lightest object forward. I then added the picture of the
name tag. To make the text stand out, I used a drop shadow and an outer glow in the
blending options.
