OBJECTIVE
Comprehend image sizing. Find, scan and import a high-quality image.
Create a full-bleed design. Choose a color scheme and typeface(s) that work
for your message and audience. Learn to use only Word design features
without using any Adobe programs, including Photoshop.
PROCESS
I first chose to make the design simple and appealing to Rexburg citizens
who would most likely go to a ballet. I chose a monochromatic color scheme,
with a light hue of violet as my color. Black and white are also prominent
in the design. The photo came from a dance photography book and was
scanned from the printer/scanners at the library.

OBJECTIVE
Unify a layout with a consistent theme and dominant spiritual message.
Learn to blend two or more images together gradually, using masks.
PROCESS
I worked in photoshop for this assignment. The man and the staircase are
two different images, with the man layered over the top. The background of
the man was already white, so it was easy to take out. I added a mask over
the staircase, and a black background layered under the staircase to I could
manually and non-destructively add the fog. I turned down the vibrancy and
saturation of the staircase and a little of the man to make it appear that he is
in a dark foggy area.

DESCRIPTION
This project is more family friendly and homy so I chose a sweet looking farm
background to represent the berry farm, which would appeal more to families
and children. It is meant to advertise a berry farm called Barrys Berries.

OBJECTIVE
Write content to describe the process of creating your logo and how it appeals to a target audience. Acquire a working knowledge of HTML. Acquire a
working knowledge of CSS.
PROCESS
I started by sketching a basic layout for the website, and made a skeleton
html file with just the text and the logo. After that, I searched for a
background I could use royalty free, and added it to the background. I then
put all of the text in a border, widened the margins around the border to
make it look centered, and added the curves for the border.

OBJECTIVE
Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal
image that will appeal to the audience. Do not imitate existing logos or use
previous designs. Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos.
PROCESS
The actual creation of the berries mainly took place in my head and on a
whiteboard/mirror. I was at a loss for a long time about what to do, but
talking through ideas with my husband really helped, and I quickly made
rough sketches of these designs with a dry erase marker. I used the shape
builder tool and different shapes in Adobe Illustrator to make the logos. More
of the ideas I used, such as the wicker on the basket, blackberry in the center
of the top logo, and fonts were suggested during critique.

OBJECTIVE
Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography. Incorporate basic
InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout. Retrieve image and logo from
links on this page.
PROCESS
The most difficult part of this design was the image of the woman, as at this
point I knew nothing about how to remove a background from a bit of image.
I mainly fit white shapes around the woman to get her out of the background.
I then added the pre-chosen paragraphs and informtion. Behind those I
added white backgrounds with the opacity down.

OBJECTIVE
Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Use the new logo to
design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.
PROCESS
The logo is actually Star-Lords signature mask. I found a photo of a
Halloween costume using the mask, and built the proportions out of that in
adobe illustrator, and changed the mask a bit to make it look nice as a logo. I
did not add nearly the amount of detail the photos I looked up had.
Then it was a matter of color picking the colors from the cassette tape a little,
changing the colors slightly to make them lighter, mostly done to the yellow,
and accented the designs with red lines, and a red circle behind the mask.

DESCRIPTION
This brochureis for the nonexistent Childrens Museum of Rexburg. I was
hoping to go for a enter a world of wonder! type feel with the gate opening
up into a beautiful world. I aimed this brochure for children and their parents,
with children enjoying the gate opening up and the pictures inside, and the
parents reading the information about the different sections of the museum.

OBJECTIVE
Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Create an original, new logo
and use it in a brochure. Incorporate quality images. Incorporate at least four
quality images, not including the logo.
PROCESS
I learned a lot about how much it takes to measure a brochure, which
took the biggest amount of time. I decided to do a gatefold, and the
measurements alone took 1/3 of the time I had to make the brochure. I then
added the information, and added clouds behind it. The door was made using
a wood texture and a metal texture, and changed the color.

OBJECTIVE
Learn basic photography skills. Choose a color scheme, take a photo to
match those colors, then incorporate the colors into the layout. Use a digital
camera to take a quality image, then download it. Adjust image levels, saturation, color balance, sharpen tool on separate layers for NDE (non-destructive editing.)
PROCESS
I made this poster with a quote about the fall, since it seems like Rexburg is
in the middle of the beautiful half of the Fall season. The original photo was
not edited much, just some change in the vibrancy scale, and I think some
sharpening. I used yellow, blue and red to make a triadic color scheme.

Aprils have never meant much to me,
