1. Describe your first impressions of SAP.

5
The first impression of SAP is that it is very well organized in terms of their categorization of
the function and all basic functions have been included in the system. The sub menu from the
basic function has also been well named for easy understanding. The search function that
allows different type of input is very useful as it allows the user to search by any input or
information remembered by the system user. They may track by their own ID if it is recorded
by themselves or by item code or specific transaction code. It makes searching for particular
data faster.
With the ability to link all the data by one system is very useful for organization and I believe
it will help reduce multiple repetitive works among colleagues. This also allows transparency
among the different functions as the data or information received and entered in SAP must be
the same and will avoid unethical behaviour among employees.
2. What types of skills seem to be necessary to use this system? 5
SAP system is fairly easy to use if one has a basic business knowledge and basic computer
skill. As SAP uses common term in business management, those who have studied business
management will have no problem understanding the meaning of the function. It does take
some time to get used to the icon but it allows task to be done faster and the icon title will be
showed when the cursor is on the icon.
Those who have understand how to function a computer and also read will be able to pick up
SAP quite fast.
However, the user must also possess detailed and preciseness when it comes to entering the
data as it does not allow deleting mistakes made once it is saved.
3. What is the function of Transaction Code in the SAP? 3
Every transaction function has a transaction code which will only be display if the setting
allows the view of technical names. This eases search process. When a user wants to run a
transaction, they may just search by the transaction code at the top left search bar without
going through all the folders in the SAP menu. They may also use the control parameters to
either end transaction (/n), close session (/i) or start new transaction (/o).
4. Create a screen capture of a SAP screen as instructed in the exercise. Underneath the image,
provide an answer to each of the following questions: 15
a. In which of the activities does this screen occur?
b. What is the name of this screen?
c. What actor accomplishes this activity?
d. Describe an error that this actor may do on this screen that SAP will prevent.
