The teleological concept of law is based on the natural law philosophy, the

natural law, as was defined by Plato and Aristotle, is a discipline to which human
conduct and relations must conform in order to realize both the individual and the
common good.
Accordingly, it is also defined as the universal discipline of virtue in the exercise
of their rights, in the performance of their obligations, in the observance of rules, and the
preservation of order and unity.
Thus, it is based on the idea that there is a very present bond or relationship
existing between positive law and natural law, hence, for the teleologists, the natural law
provides for a magnanimous influence in shaping the concept of law than any other
idea.
In addition, they consider the natural law as the most potent force in the
development of legal institutions and legal concepts, by which, it is said that, it is upon
the precepts of the natural law that the completeness of the legal order can be
achieved. For that matter, the teleological school of jurisprudence believes that a good
legal order can be deduced from the natural law, thus making the law universally valid
for all people.
We are alarmed by the influx of heinous crimes nationwide especially the Rape
Slay Cases in Bulacan several weeks ago and Sotto filed Senate Bill 2080 seeking the
revival of the Republic Act 7659 or the Death Penalty Law in the Philippines through
Lethal Injection. That death penalty is appropriately necessary due to the alarming
increase of crimes which has resulted not only to loss of lives and wanton destruction of
property but also affects the nations efforts towards sustainable and sufficient economic

development and prosperity while at the same time has undermined the peoples faith in
the Government and the latters ability to maintain peace and order in the country. Also
the Drug Trafficking, a drug trafficker was executed by firing squad in the early 1970s
and this had effectively eliminated the illegal drug trade in the country for at least 10
years.
In the positivist side, when the Death Penalty is revived, it may lessen the drug
trafficking and crime. Since the punishment for crime stated in the Death penalty Law is
death. It is just. However, in the teleological side, it is immoral and unjust. Lets say yes,
the accused committed crime and sentence to death but you still kill the accused and
its immoral and unjust.
For me, death penalty is not the solution against criminality; the best solution is to
have a discipline to ourselves and its stated in the Divine Law that killing is bad. WE are
old enough know what is right and what is wrong. Only temperate person knows himself
or herself and, thus, able to bring his or her emotion under control and there is no
intentionally bad or evil person because if the knowledge of justice.
The Death Penalty itself is impractical since it is contrary to what Gods one of
the Ten Commandments, stated that, thou shalt not kill.
As necessity, Teleological School of Jurisprudence is needed for us to know that
doing bad is wrong and unjust. As a citizen, the good world will starts with you. You will
decide if you want to do right or wrong. Nowadays, We should learn how to put God in
our hearts, how to love people around us, how we can do the right things without hurting
others. We need to disciple ourselves because no other people that we know us inside

and out but only us. We know our selves very well. Because if we have, even if we do
not have law, we can still live in a good world without crimes in the streets.
This is the time to change; we need to change ourselves of what habit we are
doing especially if it is unjust. Even the positive Law comes from the Natural law, and all
will fall back to Natural Law.
As Plato said, human beings are capable of discerning justice from injustice.
And, for him rational justice sufficient to enable a person to attain his or her moral
nature and good faith and to keep his or her self-respect by doing good and shunning
evil.
