A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO OUR FACILITY

Kil-Ka re Raceway is one of a small number of multi-purpose motorsports
facilities in the United States. Originally, the grounds consisted of 100
or so acres named Kil-Kare Park. The electric railroads ran between the
Park, Xenia, Dayton and Springfield. Dating back to 1900, the park was
a popular gathering spot for local groups because of the Miami River,
which borders the facility on the west. A bath house and ballroom
provided guests with plenty of entertainment options. Today, we are one
of a half dozen facilities with stock car and drag racing tracks.
Kil-Ka re Raceway is affiliated with the two largest a nd most prestigious
racing sanctions---NASCAR and NHRA. Both bodies provide national
recognition for r ace drivers, support the faciliti es a nd help foster
competition. The results are obvious. Motorsports is the largest and most
popular form of sport in the United States. Goodyear Tire Company
estimated attendance at NASCAR Winston Cup events at well over 6
million people in 1992. In addition, Kil-Kare hosts events by the Miami
Va lley Quarter Midgets Association, and the Automobile Race Cars of
America (ARCA). We are lucky and proud to be part of these great
organizations.

TONIGHT AT KIL-KARE SPEEDWAY

Tonights program showcases Late Models, E(conomy) Modifieds, Figure8, Pure Stock, Pro Stock, Powder Puff (ladies) and Beginner Street

up and cheer for you,- favorite drivers'

All weekly tracks in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series have track champions in each division. RJ . Reynolds
Tobacco Company posts a $2.000 point fund for the featured division at each track, with the track champion winning $1,000 and a new NASCAR Winston Racing Series
helmet. The rest of the top five drivers divide the balance
of the $2,000 track point fund .
tn add IlIOn to the Winston money, NASCAR also pays
point fund money to the top 20 in each division at weekly
tracks. A point fund fee is paid on each race during th e
season, with the money being returned to the drivers at
season's end.
Also, many tracks have their own sponsored point
fund s for various divisions.
The fol lowing point system is used fo r weekly
NASCAR races to dete rmine track champions:

The POints system may vary with certain races. Sometimes in a double feature (such as Twin laO'S), the points
are sptit between Ihe two races. A driver winning the first
race of a double feature would earn 13 points toward the
track championship.
In addit ion, each track holds selected double paint
events during the year, in which case the winner of th e
race would rece ive 52 points, second place 48 points , etc .
