Integrated Passenger Information and Fleet Management
System (IST)
1.000 smart bus stops w. information panels, in-vehicle
PA, real-time information via web and SMS
Vehicle to Ops center telecoms, vehicle location,
advanced passenger counters
Control centers / back office, plus final design, system
administration and maintenance for 10 years
Integrated Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS)
E-ticket, metro & suburban rail gating, validators and card

IST Operational Features


The Integrated Passenger Information and Fleet Management
System will provide:
Continuous vehicle monitoring by specialised control centres
GPS technology to collect data on vehicle movement and
position, and enable visual displays in digital maps
Double confirmation of vehicle position to monitor route and
distance between vehicles
Bi-directional communication (voice, data) between vehicle
and control centre
Information on safety and security incidents (accidents,
disruption of service, malicious acts etc.)
Driver alerts on vehicles deviation from scheduled service

AFCS Operational Features


The AFCS will provide:
Real time information on fare transactions and usage
of different fares
Effective control and management of demand for all
urban transport modes
Obligatory touch in at the point of boarding (buses/
tram) and/ or at the start of a journey with metro/
suburban rail
Records of usage of the transport services provided by
the various operators
Direct linkage between public transport use and
passenger needs for the various services provided
