GENERAL
AX

ARENA is a web-based supervisor utilizing the Niagara

Framework for small to big size systems.

AX

It is used to supervise HVAC systems and non-HVAC

systems (e.g. lighting) in a building. The primary use is in
applications where multiple HAWK controllers are networked
together and systems based on TCP/IP communication
standards like BACnet / IP, OPC (client), Modbus TCP, EIBKNX/IP, and SNMP can be directly integrated by ARENAAX.
AX

ARENA serves real time graphical information to standard

web-browser clients and also provides server-level functions
such as: centralized data logging, archiving, alarming, real
time graphical displays, master scheduling, system-wide
database management, and integration with enterprise
software applications.
In addition, it provides a comprehensive, graphical
engineering toolset for application development.
AX

ARENA helps to maximize operating and services

opportunities and to minimize associated costs.

ENGINEERING
The graphical engineering tool (COACHAX) is embedded in
the ARENAAX system.

Provides access to alarms, logs, graphics, schedules,

and configuration data with a standard web browser
Password protection and security using standard Java
authentication and encryption techniques with optional
security supported via an external LDAP connection
Java-enabled user interface (UI) which supports highly
customizable dynamic graphics as well as a non-Java UI
for browsers
Supports an unlimited number of users over the Internet /
Intranet with a standard web browser, depending on the
host PC
Optional direct ethernet-based driver support for BACnet
I/P, OPC (client), Modbus TCP, EIB/IP and SNMP;
additional points for each driver may be purchased in
blocks of 500 for each protocol
Optional enterprise-level data archival using SQL servers,
Oracle or DB2 database, and HTTP/HTML/XML text
formats
Sophisticated alarm processing and routing, including email and SMS
HTML-based help system that includes comprehensive
on-line system documentation
Supports multiple HAWK2xx/6xx stations connected to a
local Ethernet network, or the Internet
A Small Building System version is available for up to
ten HAWKs
Audit Trail of database changes, database storage and
backup, global time functions, calendar, control, and
energy management routines
