Host Intro:
Something big is cooking up for Kean Stage Spring 2015 and everyone is anticipating
what it is. This year marks Luis Martinezs 25/35 year directing Kean Dance Theatre and Kean
University Dance Ensemble. Luis first started directing KDT in 1997 later on turning over his
position to Sharon McKenzie to create KUDE which is a more rigorous program for dancers
with prior dance experience and passion for growth. Shows in the past were always filled with so
much diversity and different styles in the art of dance. He has been able to create such
captivating shows that leave a lasting impression on friends, family, and even potential members.
Later he hopes to build a foundation in KUDE for future dance minors to become a part of this
experience, to educate and further their passion in dance with possible career opportunities. So
what can we expect from KUDE being that it is the 25/35 year anniversary? Here is Luis himself
giving us the scoop.
