Safety switch
Apart from the mechanical arrestor of the overspeed governor, a safety switch is positively
actuated, which interrupts the control current circuit (opener contact).
Jungblut overspeed governors operate at the tripping speed in a downwards and upwards direction
and thus positively actuate the attached safety switch in bother directions of rotation, with the
exception of the already aforementioned Z12 and Z6-types, which only automatically mechanically
open the switching contact in a downwards direction at the tripping speed.
Both gripping, as well as latching design switches are available for the Jungblut overspeed
governor. In the gripping safety switch design the switching contact automatically closes, if the
pendulum returns to its initial position by turning the governor wheel against the direction of rotation
of the operation. In the latching safety switch design on the other hand, the switch contact also has
to be reconnected by pulling the contact tappet on the switch.
The standard version of the Jungblut overspeed governor is equipped with the safety switch 20K
Different to the gripping design, this switch can also be used in the 20K MG model as a latching
switch with restart lockout. In addition safety switches in gripping or latching design with
switching contact: an opener and a closer, or two openers are available for higher standards with
respect to contact assignment.
For explosion-protected ranges a gripping safety switch (an opener and a closer) with explosion
protection is available.
page 11
Remote triggering
The remote triggering (solenoid) serves to functionally control the overspeed governor, if this is not
accessible, e.g. in case of shaft installation. In the case of remote triggering, the magnetic coil of the
solenoid is energised on actuation of a pulse driven key-operated pushbutton, whereby this pulls
down the arrester catch of the arrester pendulum with the aid of an anchor rod. The arresting
pendulum then drops into the blocking collar of the overspeed governor wheel and initiates the
arrestor process when the wheel is turned.
Standard design Jungblut remote solutions are supplied for direct connection via a rectifier
connector.
Please note that when on pressing the key-operated pushbutton for the remote triggering, that this
must be pressed not longer than 5 seconds per minute. This can be identified by a noticeable
warning sign on the push button.
The remote triggering with rectifier connector connection, can be supplied for the subsequent
attachment of remote triggering. In particular, please note the assembly and safety instructions
attached to the operating and maintenance instructions. For supply voltage 196 VDC or 24 VDC or
12 VDC three additional remote triggerings are available.

Test groove
In the test groove, the tripping speed is produced when travelling at rated speed if the rope is
moved from the main groove to the test groove, due to the fact that the ratio of the diameters of the
main groove to the test groove equates to the ratio of the tripping speed v1 to the rated speed v. If
the pendulum locks into place, the tripping speed is maintained; if the pendulum does not lock into
place, the set speed is exceeded. The test groove is designed as a 38 groove, as is the main
groove, however without undercut.
The standard version of the test groove is designed for a transmission ratio of 1:1.40 for the
overspeed governor HJ 200. Deviating transmission ratios, which require a special test groove
design, are only available on request.
Creeping protection
The creeping protection is a separate special mechanism attached to the OSG that prevents
inadvertent dropping or lifting of the list cage.
A magnetic coil is attached to the side of the OSG by means of a mounting bracket. The front tip of
the magnet armature points towards the pendulum roller arm of the arresting pendulum. While the
lift cage is travelling, the magnet armature is retracted by a 100 % ED DC magnet so that the OSG
wheel can rotate freely in both directions. A safety switch actuated by the magnet armature is
closed an monitors the armature position of the magnet.
As soon as the lift cage stops at a floor, the magnet is de-energised and the retracted magnet
armature is pushed by spring force in the direction of the pendulum roller arm. The front tip of the
armature is now located on or below the pendulum roller arm of the arresting pendulum. If the lift
