Dr Zahid Aziz, Election Officer for
the UK jamaat writes:
I wish to inform you that on 4th May
2014 the Annual General Meeting of the
AAIIL (UK) endorsed that the following
have been elected to the Executive Committee:
President: Shahid Aziz
Secretary: Mustaq Ali
Treasurer: Azhar Ahmad
Three ordinary members: Ross Mahmood, Nasir Ahmad,Yahya Saqib
Tributes were paid to Mrs J. Khan for
the excellent work she did as President over
the past forty years. She will continue to
provide us with the benefit of her advice
and pass on her experience. The meeting
agreed that she should be accorded the honorary position of life patron of the UK Jamaat. We wish her a long and happy life,
ameen.
A humble note from Shahid
In 2014 our jamaat is 100 years old.
We started with few resources but had, on
our side, help from Allah and sincerity and
selfless sacrifices of our elders. In commemorating this centenary we applaud their
work and achievements. However, they

them to godhead. This was what they
taught us and this is what distinguishes us from other people, Muslim and non-Muslim alike. Their
greatness lay in their achievements
while still being human beings. We
inherit this great legacy and we have
to do justice to it. We have now to
create a legacy which our future
generations shall be proud of.
One way of doing this is to follow the Holy Quran, the hadith and
the principles upon which this jamaat
was founded. This requires selfless
service for the cause as we saw from
our previous President Jamila Khan.
And from our members full support
of the members of the Executive to
carry out our mission. You have done
us a great honour by asking us to
conduct the affairs of the jamaat but
without your help and support, financial, physical and moral, we cannot succeed.
