Good evening, it is Sunday, December 21st, 2014 at 6 o'clock and you're listening to 90.3
WKNJ-FM, Union New Jersey, and I'm Ryan Firestine with the news.

In Local News...
The Killings that have happened in New York City recently involving two police officers
being gunned down in an ambush has caused New Jersey's largest police union to state a warning
today. This warned urged the members of New Jerseys police force to take extra caution and stay
safe during the upcoming weeks.
The advisory came a day after a man opened fired on two officers who were sitting in a
patrol car in Brooklyn. The man, who was revealed to be one Ismaaiyl Brinsley, stated in posts
online to take revenge on "pigs" for the incident involving Eric Garner in Staten Island. Officers
have been noted to stay on alert for surprise ambushes.
A driver in Union was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday morning following
up on a two-vehicle collision on the Parkway South. A grey Ford Escape and Toyota Carolla
crashed at 10:30am by exit 141 in Union. The drivers identity is still unknown however dur to
the fact that he had no identification on him. The vehicles were clearned but traffic was backed
up until 11:50 am. The crash is still under investigation.

And now for National News...


Amazon has opened up a one hour delivery service in New York. The online retail
company announced the beginnings of a one hour delivery for members that have a subscription
to its Prime service in southern Manhattan. One hour delivery will costs 7.99 per order. Twohour delivery is available to Prime member for free
The new service is called Prime Now, and will be expanding to other cities beyone New York
later in the new year.
In Florida, a man who was trying to prevent being arrested, shot and ran over a Florida
police officer, killing him. The suspect was identified as 23 year old Marco Antonio Parilla Jr.
He was banging on doors in a town a bit off of Tampa, in search for a neighbor who ratted him
out to the police. When the Parilla saw the officer, he fired at him multiple times, killing him. He
did not have any connections with the recent killing of the two New York officers.
In International News...
North Korea is now refusing to be apart in a very important U.N. Security Council meeting on
Monday. This meeting will address North Koreas human rights situations for the first time. This
is all a continuation of North Koreas hacking of Sony Pictures in regards to the film The
Interivew, which has the leader of North Korea assassinated.
The 15 member Security Council has been suggested to look through North Korea's human
rights situation to the International Criminal Court. But however instead of a brawl over it
happening, North Korea has stated it will not be attending the meeting on Monday.

Four more Afghans have returned home from Guantanamo Bay as Obama keeps going with
plans to close the 13 year old detention center. This brings the number of detainees at the prison
to 132. Since the attacks on 9/11 it has held 779 prisoners.
Obama and Congress have had issues over the prison since the first days of him being President.
This was when the facility housed 242 prisoners. Obama made closing Guantanamo one of his
top priorities. But the lawmakers have refused any prisoners coming to the U.S. for trial or
detention.
And now moving onto Sports...
The Cowboys slaughtered the Colts today. With a final score of 42 to 7, the Cowboys walked out
with an easy win. Tony Romo threw 218 yars with four touchdowns during the game.
And now the weather...

And finally moving to entertainment...
Elton John is finally getting married to his partner David Furnish, and he invited everyone.
An instagram account for Elton John was created, with an invitation to their wedding as their
invite post. Both grooms will be posting photos live of the event throughout the day. As of
Sunday morning, the account has made 10,000 followers.
