"A fantastic opportunity to champion the Unviersity of Stellenbosch Business School through global networks."
What is the value of an accredited MBA?
"An accredited MBA has value for students, business schools and employers. The value of an accredited MBA for
students is a programme of a very high quality and global recognition. Students can join worldwide networks and
graduates can apply for jobs in any country. Accreditation also helps business schools to direct their
programmes, enhance performance and benchmark programmes against international MBA standards. For
employers, it means recruiting top talent as accreditation serves as a form of quality assurance. In addition,
international accreditation opens doors for global students and visiting academia."
What did you gain from your MBA? (ie how has will help in your career, why did you choose it to help
your career)

The MBA broadened and enhanced my knowledge and skills, and created career opportunities for myself. It is
about a new way of thinking - a holistic understanding of business. It definitely also changed the way I manage
and interact with people.

class, the experience shared through working with my cohort, the many business tools presented by the
professors and the ability to know how to tackle almost any problem that may arise in everyday work situations."

Hemant Chandran
What does it mean to you to be a Global AMBAssador?
To be able to represent the Strathclyde Business School (SBS) and the AMBA is a double honour, as far as I am
concerned. A great privilege, indeed, personally. The tremendous opportunities this opens up include networking
with students and professionals from rich and diverse backgrounds globally. This makes it easier for me to
champion and canvass an accredited MBA. From the connections I build upon this incredible platform, I hope to
widen a collaborative alumni network. The MBA will then naturally be seen as a truly valuable qualification
globally.

What is the value of an accredited MBA?

The proliferation of non-accredited schools and programmes is a bane. The AMBA accreditation is therefore most
crucial to saving hard-earned money and reaping the best harvest from institutional investment and individual
spending towards quality management education. I deem it my obligation and privilege as an AMBAssador to offer
myself as example and disseminate the values and access an accredited MBA proffers genuine aspirants
throughout the world. With AMBA accreditation, students, the faculty and employers will be assured of both
quality and reliability of the programmes on offer at top-notch management schools.

What are you gaining from your MBA?

The MBA at SBS continues to be a tremendous learning experience for me. Besides rich interactive classrooms
and seminars, the opportunity to engage new ideas, people and challenges is incalculable. Our colleagues
represent a mix of at least 14 different cultural traditions of work and leisure. What I have imbibed from this
ambience will take a long time for me to comprehend or assess. Furthermore, my life skills have never had such
an amazing challenge to cope with.
The MBA has opened up a whole new vista of knowledge and experience for me. Besides honing my business
skills, this programme has instilled in me great confidence and courage in dealing with problems that would have
otherwise seemed overwhelming. While business / work-experience is essential, an MBA offers cutting edge
strategies and gambits that are essential to be on top of the changing global tradescape. A full time MBA has no
substitute for the enormous experiential learning opportunity it offers especially among a peer-group matching my
initiatives and motivation.

What does it mean to you to be a Global AMBAssador?
I am honoured to represent QUT as its first Global AMBAssador. Almost every student including me will say the
networks they build during their MBA are invaluable so the opportunity to build an alumni network on a global
scale is exciting.

What is the value of an accredited MBA?

The MBA is a big investment of both time and money - an accredited MBA gives you the benefit of knowing it has
been assessed against a high standard. For me, the requirement to have work experience is important and the
AMBA accreditation offers that. Your learning experience is so much richer when you add in the diverse
experience and perspectives of your MBA class mates.

What did you gain from your MBA?

When I started my MBA I expected to gain knowledge of tools and frameworks but what surprised me was the
confidence it gives you; both from understanding yourself better and knowing how much you can achieve when
you are challenged. It gives you the confidence to take on big problems that in the past would have seemed
overwhelming.

What it means to be a Global AMBAssador:

"AMBA has created a different programme that adds great value to the MBA - even after graduation - at Arthur Lok
Jack GSB, by making the qualification truly global."

Adela Papac
What it means to be a Global AMBAssador:
"Being a Global AMBAssador, for me means, first and foremost, sharing with my peers and other professionals
how MBA has positively influenced my life."
The value of an accredited MBA:
"AMBA's accreditation for MBA programmes is crucial because it ensures standards of quality and gives you a
reassurance that the investment of your time and money into it is really worth it."
What are you gaining from your MBA?
"After being in business for so many years, I have to admit that I had developed a degree of complacency and a
bit of an attitude that everything you need in business, you learn through your work experience, and not in the
business school. MBA was a right challenge to prove just how wrong I was! MBA shifts your mind to think
differently. It not only integrates and properly organises knowledge you already have, it also gives you a lot of new
insights, challenges your old beliefs and offers a new perspective on things.
"After you spend so much time in class solving problems some of the world's top companies are faced with, like it
is your everyday business, it gives you an additional confidence in terms of variety of issues you are able to work
on. This being said, I believe it is really important that before taking an MBA you have enough work experience,
and this is one of the areas where the Association of MBAs is really strict with their accreditation."

Alec Pearson
What does it mean to you to be a Global AMBAssador?

"Being a Global AMBAssador has given me the opportunity to meet and develop a network of highly skilled
individuals who are committed to delivering excellence within business. The group of Global AMBAssadors
contains an eclectic mix of skills and expertise, which has enabled me to share and further my knowledge and
pass this on to others."

What is the value of an accredited MBA?

"An accredited MBA is a guarantee of a relevant, quality assured and dynamic learning environment to help
students fully understand and appreciate the needs of businesses not just today, but in the future. This benefits
not just the students but employers globally, as they will have access to an ever growing pool of highly qualified
professionals. From my experience, at the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School, I was fortunate
to have encountered a practical and stimulating learning environment. This was underpinned by highly
knowledgeable Professors and Lecturers, across a wide range of business related subjects, noted for their
extensive and ground breaking research within their subject matter."

What did you gain from your MBA?

"A deep understanding of business process theories, practicalities and the challenges evident (and possible
solutions) within complex business environments, particularly from a Global perspective. Leading on from this, a
greater appreciation of how each of the business processes links together to provide tangible results. From a
personal perspective, I have found that my confidence to challenge and critically analyse has vastly improved
since completing the MBA. The MBA has enabled me to develop a new and enjoyable career path which involves
helping others to develop their skills and add value to their organisation."

Nidhi Singh
What it means to be a Global AMBAssador:
"It is an opportunity for me to spread the message about the importance of an accredited MBA among the future
MBA candidates, universities and the employers. It also gives me a platform to interact effectively and build
valuable connections with like-minded individuals from across the world."
The value of an accredited MBA:
"Having an accredited MBA gives me the confidence that I'm in the right hands and that I have invested in the right
place, and that I'm part of the Association of MBAs' network of 189 schools in over 70 countries."
What are you gaining from your MBA?
"The MBA has given me a unified vision, put together all my past experiences and has given me a path for the
future. The benefits of doing an MBA are immense. Often we are stuck in our departments and think only about
sales, marketing or finance. It is imperative that we think about the global picture, on how a particular business
impacts the society. The case based learning brings with itself a plethora of new information about companies in
other sectors, their issues, challenges and achievements. It opens a whole new world of strategic thinking and
leadership styles."
