Le Groupe de droit public de la Facult de droit de lUniversit dOttawa et le Younger
Comparativists Committee de lAmerican Society of Comparative Law invitent les chercheurs
mergents soumettre des rsums darticles en vue dun atelier dune journe entire sur la loi
publique comparative. Cet atelier se tiendra le vendredi 10 juillet 2015 lUniversit dOttawa. Les
articles seront publis dans un numro spcial de la Review of Constitutional Studies (tous les articles
seront soumis au processus normal dvaluation par les pairs).
Latelier portera sur les politiques et la constitution . Les thmes abords pourront comprendre
linteraction entre le droit et les politiques dans le droit constitutionnel interne, le rle des acteurs
politiques dans la mise en uvre du droit constitutionnel, le processus de rvision de la Constitution,
comprenant le rfrendum et linitiative populaire, les politiques du processus de nomination la
magistrature et la rglementation constitutionnelle des lections, comprenant les lois rgissant les
dpenses lectorales.
Objectif de latelier
Cet atelier aura pour objectif de runir un petit groupe de spcialistes de la loi publique comparative
afin de discuter de six travaux en cours raliss par des chercheurs mergents.
Structure de latelier
Cet atelier dune journe entire proposera six prsentations de chercheurs mergents et un discours
thme lheure du djeuner. Une priode de 45 minutes sera consacre chaque chercheur, dont 15
minutes la prsentation elle-mme et 30 minutes aux commentaires dun spcialiste et de
lensemble du groupe.
Admissibilit
Lappel doffres est lanc aux chercheurs mergents qui enseignent dans ce domaine ou y
poursuivent des recherches depuis un maximum de dix ans.

Mode de soumission
Les chercheurs intresss doivent dici le 10 janvier 2015 faire parvenir ladresse de courriel
judy.yi@bc.edu un rsum dau plus 500 mots de leur prsentation. Les articles dfinitifs, dun
maximum de 10 000 mots, devront nous parvenir au plus tard le 15 juin 2015. Les articles devront
tre indits la date de latelier. Les chercheurs devront identifier leur envoi dans la ligne dobjet de
leur courriel de la manire suivante : Ottawaenvoi dun articleatelier sur la loi publique
comparative .
Cots
Les candidats retenus devront sacquitter eux-mmes de leurs dpenses de voyage et de sjour ainsi
que de tous les frais accessoires. Un nombre limit de bourses sera disponible pour permettre de
compenser en partie les dpenses de voyage des participants.

invite paper proposals for a workshop on Politics and the Constitution

The Public Law Group of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and the Younger
Comparativists Committee of the American Society of Comparative Law invite emerging
scholars to submit paper proposals for a full-day workshop on comparative public law. The
workshop will be held at the University of Ottawa on Friday, July 10, 2015. The papers will be
published in a special issue of the Review of Constitutional Studies (all papers will be subject to
the normal peer-review process).
The theme of the workshop is Politics and the Constitution. Possible topics might include the
interaction between law and politics in domestic constitutional law, the role of political actors in
implementing constitutional law, constitutional amendment processes, including referenda and
initiatives, the politics of judicial appointment processes, and the constitutional regulation of
elections, including laws governing election expenses.
Purpose of Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to convene a small group of scholars in comparative public law
to discuss six works in progress written by emerging scholars.
Structure of Workshop
This full-day workshop will feature presentations by six emerging scholars as well as a
lunchtime keynote address. Each paper will be allocated 45 minutes, including 15 minutes for the
authors presentation and 30 minutes for comments by an established scholar as well as by the
group as a whole.
Eligibility
Submissions are invited from emerging scholars who have been teaching and/or researching in
the field for no more than ten years.

Submission Instructions
Interested scholars should send an abstract of no more than 500 words by January 10, 2015 to the
following address: judy.yi@bc.edu. Final papers will be due on June 15, 2015, and should be no
longer than 10,000 words. Papers may not have been published by the time of the workshop.
Scholars should identify their submission with the following subject line: OttawaPaper
SubmissionComparative Public Law Workshop.
Costs
Successful applicants are responsible for securing their own funding for travel, lodging and other
incidental expenses. A small number of bursaries may be available to offset a portion of
applicants travel costs.
