The unit consists of a two stage protector incorporating a gasfilled arrester in combination with a fast transient suppression
circuit between line and coaxial screen. The device is
configured to minimise circuit capacitance so that
performance up to at least 10Mbit/s is assured. A low
capacitance gas-filled arrester is provided between the cable
screen and frame ground via a green/yellow flying lead for
applications where the screen is not directly grounded.

Product Description
Novaris Combined Surge Protector SF102DIN-CLB is
designed for the effective protection of CCTV systems
against induced transient overvoltages. Protection is provided
for both power and coaxial cable lines in one compact and
economical package.
The unit consists of a single-phase surge filter rated at 2
amperes, and a coaxial cable line protector with a clamping
voltage of 10V (other voltages are available on request).

Power Line Protection

Multistage transient protection is utilised in every power
surge filter. Metal oxide varistors, as the first stage, absorb
the majority of the energy.
The first stage is followed by a low pass LC filter that further
attenuates the let through voltage. The filter also attenuates
low-level noise and harmonics. The filter is rated at 2 amps.
Do not exceed this rating.
The third stage consists of metal oxide varistors. These
provide a final clamping circuit and protect against impulses
generated by connected loads.
Connection to the filter is via polarized plugs, which prevent
inadvertent reversals, and enables the filter to be bypassed by
simply plugging the two together. The filter is housed in a
strong, all-metal case that is DIN rail mountable. The DIN
rail clip provides a low impedance connection to earth (DIN
rail must be earthed). For safety reasons the mains earth must
still be electrically connected.
