Memory Verse: Psalm 1:1-3: How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of

the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2 But his delight
is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a
tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does
not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

Now believing is nothing else but accepting Christ for your Lord and Savior as He is offered
to you in the Gospel; and this accepting is principally, if not only, an act of your will; so that
if you are sincerely and cordially willing to have Christ upon His own terms, upon Gospel
terms, that is to save you and rule you, to redeem you and to reign over you then you
are a believer. Thomas Brooks
We are not saved for believing but by believing. Thomas Taylor
God commands nothing but what is beneficial. O Israel, what does the Lord require of you,
but to fear the Lord your God, and to keep His statutes, which I command you this day, for
your good? To obey God, is not so much our duty as our privilege. Thomas Watson

The Christian is bred by the Word and must be fed by it. William Gurnall
2 Samuel 7:12-13 "When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will
raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his
kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his
kingdom forever."
Psalm 119:1-3 "How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of
the LORD. 2 How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all
their heart. 3 They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways."

Some will obey partially, obey some commandments, not others, like a plough which, when
it comes to a still piece of earn makes a balk. But God, who spoke all the words of the
moral law, will have all obeyed. Thomas Watson
As the saint is described sometimes by a clean heart, so also sometimes by clean
hands, because he has both; the holiness of his heart is seen at his fingers ends. George
