DES kick Start the meeting by explaining the main purpose of calling the meeting, which
is in respect to the letter written by SINA ABINBOLA of program department, in regards
to OB coverage of 28/08/2014 (Mrs. Dora Akunyili burial service) and
16/09/2014(ministerial platform and Jonathan support group rally ) He spoke at length
on his observations and the decision he is taking:-He wants all engineers to stand up to their toes and work hard in order to protect the
image of the departments at all time.
-Disappointed with the condition of the OB VAN
-the OB VAN need total maintenance
-power cable and Audio cable should be separated
-only two lines are working properly in the OB VAN audio snake cable.
Engr. Collins is to be deploy to MCR with immediate effect to coordinate OB program in
the control room and studio and also to assist Engr. Jackson and Engr. Linus will head
the OB operation for the main time
-promise to fix all problem related to the OB VANs

After serious deliberations and inputs from all the officers presence the following
conclusions were reached: A day before any live broadcast OB VAN should be station at the venue and tests
should be carried out properly
MONEY should be made available for emergency OB assignment
All senior engineers should be inform about any OB program
2 Hours before any live coverage there should be continuous broadcast from OB
point.
Proper logging by engineers on duty (time should be properly stated), studio
manager and OB crew head should always write report on each OB assignment.
Testing of the quality of audio signal from the OB point at the control room
should be handle by experienced senior engineer (engr. Francis to be in charge)
Training of serious minded engineers on how to use the entire OB transmitting
medium (VSAT, TIELINE, STL, COMMREX/BEGAN etc) effectively should be
carried out immediately and should be on the field not theory.
OB VAN phones should be restore by engr. Francis by Monday 22nd September
2014
8 SIM CARDS (MTN,GLO,ETISALAT,AIRTEL) A and two universal MODEM for use
in the two OB VAN(Engr. Zuberu to be in charge )
Engr. Onikwo to go to mobile service provider and inquire for dedicated service
line that can meet our OB needs.
Audio cable (CAT-5/CAT 6) should be run from national press centre to control
ground floor for reliability (Engr. Achanya ,Engr. Sanda and engr. Zuberu are to
be in charge )
Engr. Zuberu should collect data of all FRCN area rigger in the north for effective
utilization
OUT MATTERS DISCUSSED
Organize series of training for the coverage of upcoming political campaigns.
Make the big store to become a music production arena, in order to generate
revenue for the corporation.
Upgrade FRCN training school to be online training institution, starting with
engineering department looking at the course contents and materials.

CMC MEETING OUTCOME

D G is ready to reward hardworking staff but the gesture should not be
abuse.
Work on ENS and LOS signals
Move to the abolish of barter by the corporation
Carry out maintenance on FRCN equipments E.g. mask etc
