The daylight factor value of 1.636% respectively when compared to the MS1525 table
above fall under the zone average which means the distribution of illumination is fair.
The building faces the direction of the sun rising and setting, plus the fact that the
entrance of the building has almost no wall elements to suppress lighting coming from
the exterior.

RT = 0.16 x V / A
= 0.16 x 88.2 / 8.56

The reverberation time for the loading bay in 500Hz of absorption coefficient in 500Hz is 1.64s.
According to the standard of reverberation time the standard comfort reverberation is between
0.8s - 1.3s. The reverberation time exceeds the comfort level slightly.

To calculate transmission loss on materials, the formula below is used:

SRI = TL = 10 log10 (1/Tav) where Tav = Average transmission coefficient of materials.
SRI =10 log10 (1/Tav), Tav = [ (S1 x Tc1) + (S2 x Tc2) +.. (Sn x Tcn) ] divided by total surface area.

Concrete wall:

Timber door:

SRI = 10 log10 ( 1 / Tconcrete )

SRI = 10 log10 ( 1 / Tglass )

42 = 10 log10 ( 1 / Tconcrete )

36 = 10 log10 ( 1 / Tglass )

Tconcrete = 6.3 x 10 -5

Ttimber = 2.51 x 10 -4

Average transmission coefficient of materials:

Tav = [6.3 x 10 -5 + 2.51 x 10 -4 ] [ 16.35 + 4.3 ]

Tav = 1.52 x 10 -5

Total sound reduction index , SRI of the wall:

SRI = 10 log10 ( 1 / 1.52 x 10
SRI = 48.1 dB
