Peserta didik yang mengalami perilaku konsumtif memiliki pola pikir yang tidak rasional.

Pikiran sangat
berpengaruh kuat bagi perasaan, emosi dan tindakan peserta didik yang akhirnya menghasilkan perilaku
yang maladaptif. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui efektivitas teknik self instruction dalam mereduksi perilaku
konsumtif. Penelitian menggunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan one group pretest-posttest design.
Partisipan penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2012/2013 yang
berjumlah 15 peserta didik (laki-laki 8 dan perempuan 7) pada kategori perilaku konsumtif tinggi.
Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah angket. Analisis data statistik menggunakan Wilcoxon
Match Pairs Test. Hasil penelitian: (1) sebagian besar peserta didik kadang-kadang berperilaku
konsumtif; (2) rancangan intervensi berfokus untuk mereduksi indikator perilaku konsumtif; (3) teknik self
instruction efektif mereduksi perilaku konsumtif.
Students who experiencing of consumptive behavior have irrational patterned thinking. Our mindset
having a strength effect for feeling, emotion and students action which finally yield the maladaptif
behavior. Research target to know the effectiveness of technique of self instruction in reducing
consumptive behavior. Research use the method pra-experiment by one group pretest-posttest design.
Research participles are students by class of XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandung of Academic Year 2012 / 2013
amounting to 15 students ( men 8 and women 7) at high consumptive behavioral category. Instrument
used in research is enquette. Analyse the statistical use the Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test. Result of
research: ( 1) most students sometimes behaving consumptive; ( 2) intervence design focus to reduce the
consumptive behavioral indicator; ( 3) technique self instruction effectively reduce the consumptive
behavior.
Consumptive behavior among students in this time not again to fulfill the requirement only, but also to fulfill the desire which in character to
boost up the presstige, generating to feel the self confidence, or just to follow the mode which are expanding. Students who experience
consumptive behavior have an illogical mindset. Mind have an effect very strong for feeling, emotion and action that ultimately result in
maladaptive behavior. The purpose of research is to know the effectiveness of technique of self instruction in reducing consumptive
behavior. The study used a pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. Research participant are students class of XI

sometimes behave comsumptive; (2) the design of interventions focused on the reduction indicator of comsumptive behavior; (3) selfinstruction technique effectively reduce comsumptive behavior.
